Now that Valentine’s Day has passed it’s time for some winter-themed nail art! I have yet to do some this season, and now is my chance before I get into St-Patrick’s Day themes and Easter themes.
So I present to you my Snowflakes Jelly Sandwich!
My cuticles look horrible today. 🙁
For those unfamiliar with the term “jelly sandwich”, it’s when you use a polish that is translucent event after a few layers (called a jelly
polish), and you add a layer of glitters and/or stamping in between your layers of jelly polish. In this design I used both, a stamp and some glitters.
Other than my usual OPI Nail Envy as my base coat and Nubar Diamont top coat, I used the following polishes:
Essie unknown sheer white (wrong name on bottle) x 3 coats
Konad in white x 1 (stamping with Bundle Monster BM-323 plate)
China Glaze “Fairy Dust” x 1 (one nice thick layer)
Essie “Adore-a-ball” x 1
This is only my second jelly sandwich ever and it was my first time using this jelly colour so I’m still learning on how many layers to use and what glitters work best.
Next time I will only put 2 layers underneath my stamping because I was hoping that the snowflakes would pop more. However, if you’re planning on stamping in a different colour other than white then the 3 coats I did today would probably be great.
That being said, I’m still extremely happy with how these turned out. These images are all up close so that I can show you the design, but in real life it’s very subtle and there’s just this elegance to them, I love it!
