Rainbow Honey “Sweet Talk” – Swatches and Review

Hi readers!

I’m excited to share with you my very first Rainbow Honey polish! My fellow Canadian blogger Melissa from Claw of Cthulhu first sold me on Rainbow Honey with her beautiful swatches, and when Meghan from Will Paint Nails For Food, another Canadian blogger, told me about their March deal ($50 orders ship free and get a free special edition polish) I was sold! If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my order already.

So I decided to start with the Sweet Talk collection, and here is the namesake from that collection, Sweet Talk.

FYI – This post is picture heavy.

First let’s take a look at the adorable packaging that this collection comes in. If you buy the Sweet Talk collection as a set, it comes it its own box.

And the polishes have their own boxes too.

And I love how the top of the boxes have stickers for the polishes. If you keep the boxes in a drawer you don’t have to take them out to see which one’s which.

It’s added touches like this that make me love a brand, and part of the reason why I was so excited to share this post with you today.

How about some polish now? 🙂

This is a white jelly base with small and medium hex glitters in purple, red and pastel turquoise. It also has some micro iridescent chips (which you can see a bit in the macro shot).

The formula on this one is awesome. I applied 3 coats, but given that’s it a jelly it’s to be expected. If the polish was opaque you would not be able to see the glitters from the underlying coats so some sheerness is required in these types of polishes.

The brush is the regular size brush which works great.

On top of the 3 coats of this polish, I added 2 coats of Gelous and 1 coat of Nubar Diamont top coat to give it a nice smooth finish. Glitter polishes are always so hungry for top coat.

My pictures don’t do this polish justice, it’s sooo beautiful in person, I’m in love! I can’t wait to try the other ones.

  • Love it. I always like seeing those milky based polish with the bright glitters floating in it. So girly and sweet. The rainbow honey packaging is looking pro too lol 😀

    • Thanks Choi! 😀
This is my first polish like this and I love it, and Rainbow Honey's formula is awesome.

  • This looks really great on you…very "sweet" (sorry can't come up with any original complements after 10pm 😉 ). I love the packaging as well. For some reason i bought the entire sweet talk collection, but I didn't get the box for the collection, just the individual boxes for the polishes. :'(

    • Thanks Meghan! 😀
My brain doesn't function at its best after 10pm either, hehe! It's too bad that you didn't get the packaging as well, I wonder why.

  • Oh my goodness that is beautiful!!!! I am sooo in love omg!!!

    • Thanks Jasmine! 😀
I didn't want to take it off, I loved it so much!

  • The nail polish color is so sweet! It reminds me of vanilla ice cream with colored sprinkles~

    • Thanks Sally! 😀
Yes I agree it really does look like sprinkled ice cream.

  • The nail polish is so cute and a gorgeous spring time colour!

  • Beautiful!!! thank you so much for your visit!
I follow you with GFC and Bloglovin!
Have a good week! and my like in bloglovin for you too!!!:)))

    Besos, desde España, Marcela♥

  • These look amazing! Would love to try them out 🙂 x

  • YES! My long awaited review from you!!! I am SO glad you liked Sweet Talk! You made it look absolutely gorgeous too, and…. DAT MACRO! I had no idea there were tiny opalescent flakes! I love that your swatch looks so smooth. (So many other bloggers didn't use top coat for Sweet Talk and it drove me NUTS. Come on, guys!)

Anyway I am so glad you dig it. Even as a loyal RH fangirl, I can admit some of their polishes are difficult to apply but I found this entire collection fairly consistent. Can't wait to see your other reviews! :3

    • Thank you Melissa!!! 😀
I agree, I've seen swatches without top coat and they REALLY don't do this polish justice. And this is no jab at RH, but all polishes like this (by any brand) need loads of top coat, else they just don't look that good.

I'm really impressed with this collection, it's 3 for 3 for me! You'll just have to wait for my other reviews to get the full deets! 😉
