Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20 PA+ – Review

Hello there!

Today I’m continuing my quest to find a BB Cream with Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20 PA+.

While doing my research on BB Creams last fall I saw a lot of posts that said Korean brands were the way to go for these as they have the best ones. So I did more digging and ordered a few. This is the first one I tried out of the Korean brands.

Skinfood describes this as “A pore-refining BB cream that regulates sebum secretion while creating a flawless and matte complexion without feeling greasy.”

Sounds like the product for me. I also find it has a cute packaging, but that was just a bonus. 🙂

The container is an upside-down pump which I find convenient. And the container is soft so you can squeeze it once it starts getting empty.

This product comes in 2 colours: #1 Light Beige and #2 Natural Beige. Since I have a fair complexion I ordered colour #1, which turned out to be perfect for me. I might need colour #2 for the summer though. Skinfood also released 6 additional (darker) shades that are available in the US only.

I would consider this BB Cream to have a medium coverage. I find it helps tone down the redness in my face, but it does not cover to the point where I have to apply blush – which is exactly what I was looking for.

I have combination skin and I find this product works well for me. I still need to blot throughout the day, but that is no different than before. I also find that it feels light; I actually don’t feel like I’m wearing anything and it does not look cakey on my pores.

In this next picture I have the BB Cream on half of my face only. The difference is not dramatic, but the redness – especially on my cheek – is toned down and my skin appears more even overall.

And here I am with a full application. I find that my face matches my neck and shoulders pretty well.

I’ve been using this BB Cream since the end of January and I’ve loved it since the first application! But I’m going to run out soon so I need to try the other ones asap so I can decide on a winner, and reorder this one if it is “the one”.

A few more things…

After about one week of using this product I did notice that my face felt a bit smoother, which was unexpected and totally welcomed!

This product has quite a pleasant smell, it’s very light and fresh, and slightly fruity.

The only con I have is that I can only buy this product online so I need to plan ahead because it can take up to 4 weeks for orders to arrive (depending on where I order from).

I could not find any samples for this specific one so I ordered the full size – which I found on ebay for $10 (CAD) with free shipping.

Do you use a BB Cream?

  • This looks like a good one, I really enjoy the maybelline one, but recently I have gone back to foundation because I wanted more coverage
Have you tried the maybelline one?

    • I think I tried a sample of Maybelline, that's what got me started on this quest, hehe! But it was not meant for oily skin so I got quite oily with it. I'll have to look at what they have for combination-oily skin and give it a try.

  • Wow, it makes your skin flawless! The color really does match you very well too!

  • Wow, it looks great! I am just using this tinted moisturizer from Mac but it still feels weird – I don't wear make up asides from eyeliner. Now that I am in my late 20s, some dark skin spots are starting to show. Sigh.

    • Thanks Melissa! I'm not used to foundations or products like that, and I find this one very light, I love it!
