My BB Cream quest continues with Skin79 Intense Classic Balm – The Premium BB Cream.
On Skin79’s North American site they have a chart to help you find the perfect BB Cream for you (they don’t have it anymore), which is what I used to find this one. Now that I look at it again I should have tried the Hot Pink Super Plus instead. This one has “whitening features” which I don’t care about, but the Hot Pink Super Plus has “wrinkle improvement” instead of the “whitening features”, which is more what I want. So why did I choose this one? I really don’t remember. Oh well…
Skin79 describes this BB Cream as:
The Perfect Finish! The Upgraded Original BB Cream
- Whitening function turns dull and dark skin into shiny clear skin tone plus UV Protection.
- Covers skin trouble and blemish to even out skin tone.
- Make-up base + Make-up + Pact All-In-One.
It has SPF 35 PA++.
The container is your typical squeeze tube.
This BB Cream only comes in one shade. It looks dark on my hand, but it oxidizes once you put it on and lightens up.
If you’ve seen my previous BB Cream reviews you know I like to do a half and half comparison, and here it is! 🙂 You can definitely tell which side has the BB Cream because the redness is pretty much all gone and the skin tone appears more even overall.
I find before and after pictures don’t always accurately show the difference because the light angle is not always the same and the auto-tuning of cameras can affect outcomes as well. You can see that difference in my 2 pictures above and below. I always try to get the same angles and light and all, but it just doesn’t always work. So by doing a half and half comparison you get the actual difference.
And then I do the full application picture so you can see the overall effect.
This BB Cream has a medium to full coverage. You can still see some redness peeking through on my cheeks which I like because I don’t want to have to apply blush. And my face matches my neck and shoulders pretty well.
Here are some of my thoughts on this BB Cream:
- Has a thicker consistency than the other BB Creams I’ve tried;
- My face looks very pale/white (the camera did not pick that up);
- Once my face gets oily it looks very cakey;
- Once my face gets oily it gets a very greyish tint which makes me look sick (I was not able to capture this on camera).
I know some people rave about Skin79 BB Creams, but this one is just not for me. It might work well on someone who does not have enlarged pores or with dry to normal skin, but you might be using a different cream if that is your skin type.
I was not able to find samples of this BB Cream so I (unfortunately) bought the full size product. But I was able to get it on ebay for $10 (CAD) with free shipping so it’s not too bad.
Have you tried Skin79 BB Creams? Which one(s) and what are your thoughts?
