This past Friday the nail community on Instagram, Twitter, and in blogs joined together for Mint Manis for Talia Joy since in her last nail picture on Instagram she was wearing a mint polish. I know I’m late with this post, but we were out of power from 4:30pm Friday to 1:30am Saturday so I was not able to do my nails on time.
Talia Joy Castellano was a 13 year-old girl who had been battling neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer, for the past 6 years, and in her last year was also battling preleukemia. Her love for makeup turned her in a Youtube Makeup Guru and her videos have been viewed over 45 million times! Sadly, she passed away on Tuesday, July 16.
For this nail art I used 2 polishes from a gradient nail kit from Etude House. The kit is called Mint Frappe and the colours are Soft Mint and Soda Mint, how fitting!
I started with 3 coats of Soft Mint, then layered on 4 coats of Soda Mint with the longest coat covering 3/4 of my nails and the shortest one only touching the tips. I was able to achieve a gradient effect because the polish is very sheer.
The gradient is very subtle and shows better in real life, but the following pictures are not as up-close so you can see it better.
And here’s a macro shot because I love seeing glitter up close. As you can see these polishes are full of shimmer which makes them really sparkly in real life.
Just keep swimming!
