Peripera ”Sky Blue” – Swatches and Review

Hello hello!

Happy 4th of July to my American readers! 🙂

Today I’m sharing with you a polish that I wore a few weeks ago from a new-to-me brand from Korea called Peripera. This colour is from their Perfume collection and is called Sky Blue.

I always get excited when I share new-to-me brands with you, especially the Korean brands because I’ve only discovered these in the past year and I’m hoping that I’m making you discover new brands as well. Also, I find that Korean brands have very cute packaging and I love it!

How cute is this kitty cap?!?

The brush on this polish is very wide with a square tip. I like wide brushes, but this one is too wide to have a square tip. It would work much easier if it had a rounded tip or if it was narrower.

This is a beautiful creamy sky blue colour. It was almost opaque in one coat, but I used two coats to be safe. It is self-leveling and has a nice finish on its own, but in this post it is shown with one coat of Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat.

There is a very faint shimmer in this polish that you see very well when applying it, but it goes away once it dries. You can kind of see it in some of the bottle shots (the last picture shows it more – click on it to see it better).

Let’s talk about the scent… These perfume polishes are said to have/be:

  • A Perfume nail with delicate scent
  • The delicate fragrance is welcome!
  • Forget peculiar smells of existing products
  • It puts floral perfume scent into our fingertips to leave the fragrance.

I can’t quite pinpoint the smell and can’t decide if I like it or hate it. It’s kind of flowery, but in that fake rose kind of smell. You should have seen my husband and I trying to figure out the smell. We were standing in front of each other, each sniffing a hand every 5-10 seconds or so and going “it kind of smells like… *sniff sniff* … I’ve smelled this before … *sniff sniff* … gah! what is it?!? *sniff sniff*… wait wait, it’s … *sniff sniff* … it’s umm, umm … *sniff sniff* …”! It was hilarious!!!

The smell lasted about a day. Maybe without top coat it would have lasted longer, but I didn’t buy this for the perfume scent so I didn’t care about that.

In case you’re wondering if the shape of the kitty makes it awkward to hold the brush while applying the polish, I did not have any problems whatsoever.

I absolutely LOVE this colour! It’s just bright enough that it catches your eye when you move your hands and I couldn’t help but oohh and aahh all day long.

I have another colour from this line and I can’t wait to try it out.

I bought this for $6.00 + sh. (USD) on RoseRoseShop.

What do you think?
