Sweet Polish ”Birthday Bash” – Swatches and Review

Hi readers!

Are you enjoying your weekend? I’m back home! It was a fun-filled week and it was great to visit with friends and family. But I did not get to see everyone though, one week goes by too fast. 🙁

Today I’m sharing with you a new Canadian indie polish brand called Sweet Polish by Amanda of Sweetheart Nail Art. This polish is called Birthday Bash and is the second polish created in celebration of the 3 year anniversary of Sweetheart Nail Art.

I received the mini bottle and it has a thin and wide brush, just like I love them.

This polish is described as a black jelly polish with pink, blue, yellow, orange, green, and purple micro bar glitters. I’ve never tried a bar glitter polish before so I was very excited for this one.

Amanda recommends layering this polish over a black base, so I put one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black as base and then one coat of Birthday Bash. I then followed with two coats of Gelous and one coat of Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat. (me and my crazy amounts of top coat!)

The formula was a dream to work with! The glitters had a good distribution and the base was just the right consistency; not too thick or too thin. It also dried fast, but I was still able to do 5-6 swipes per nail without any pulling at the cuticles (I find multiple swipes help distribute the glitters better). And once I was done all my nails, the first ones I started with were dry.

I also wanted to see how this polish worked by itself so I did not put a black base on my thumb, just 3 coats of Birthday Bash. It still builds up very nicely.

No glitter polish review of mine would be complete without a macro shot! Just ignore the bubbles, that’s from the 3 coats of topcoat.

I absolutely love this polish and have nothing but good things to say about it! The bar glitters are really fun and the colours give it a funky vibe. I was at a barbecue tonight and one of my girlfriends said that it looked like fireworks, she loved it too.

Amanda is off to a great start with a great formula and really cute labels.

This polish in full size (15mL) sells for $7.60 (US) on her etsy shop.

You can also find her on her at: her blog, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and Youtoube.

I’m really honoured that Amanda sent me her polishes for review, thank you!!!
