When I picked up Essence‘s latest limited edition, Ticket to Paradise, it occurred to me that the last 2 LE we got from Essence in Canada both had a gold-coloured nail polish. When I was swatching Tropical Heat a few weeks ago I decided to compare it to My Sunny Side (from the Sun Kissed LE) to see how much they differed. And since I was doing the comparison I decided to take pictures to share with you. 🙂
Before I go any further I just want to clarify that I never thought these two were dupes. I just wanted to see how much different they were for 2 golds released one after another.
Just by looking at the bottles you can see that they are different, but at the same time, not that far apart. They are both golds after all.
Here are the major differences between the 2 polishes:
|Tropical Heat (Ticket to Paradise)||My Sunny Side (Sun Kissed)|
|Coats in pictures||3 – still not fully opaque||2 – fully opaque|
|Colour/Shade||Light gold||Dark gold, more yellow|
|Nail Art Possibilities||Could be layered over other colours to add a light gold shimmer.||Might be good for stamping, but I have not tried it… yet!|
|Visible Strokes||No||Yes, so be careful.|
And there you have it! Two golds with different feels and formulas that can be used in many different ways.
I had fun doing this comparison, I need to do more!
