Rainbow Honey ”Magic Cake” – Swatches and Review

Happy Friday everyone!

TGIF, yay! πŸ™‚ This also means that it’s the last day of my Rainbow Honey week… already?!?

Today’s polish is another of the clear base glitter toppers from The Summer of 199X collection, and this one is called Magic Cake.

Same brush as the others. πŸ™‚

This colour is described as: Turn any manicure into a neon blast with these bright glitters; word on the street is this cake will make you trip!

This is yet another reference to the 1995 SNES game Earthbound which I’m not familiar with, but to get a better understanding you can check out Claw of Cthulhu’s post and read the first paragraph under the first picture. It will all make sense after that. Also check out her awesome swatches while you’re there. πŸ™‚

Here is Magic Cake over the shimmer cremes of this collection (Mint Flavor, Tessie, Apple Kid). It really goes well with all of them. I used 2 coats of this glitter polish on all fingers.

And here we have the initial picture again, once again with 2 coats of Magic Cake on all fingers. My index and middle fingers have a glossy top coat and my ring finger and pinkie have a matte top coat. Once again my camera washed out the white fingers, but you’ll see more details in the macro shots below.

And for the first macro shot, here is my middle finger with a glossy top coat.

And now my ring finger with a matte top coat.

You definitely see the details better over the black polish.

I have to admit that I was expecting this amount of glitter payoff with one coat instead of two, but I still like it and it adds a nice pop of neon to your nails.

Is this something you would wear?

This concludes my Rainbow Honey week! What are your thoughs on part 2 of The Summer of 199X collection?
