Today’s post is about the em michelle phan lash gallery lengthening mascara in black that I received in my November Ipsy Glam Bag.
This mascara is described as Inspired by the girl who loves to tease with her eyes. Create instant lash extensions with built-in micro-fibers. Extend without clumps. Smudge-proof, smear-proof wear with easy warm water removal.
Let’s see how it worked for me…
The brush is the typical mascara brush, but it has a slight curve in it. You can also see the micro-fibers on it.
Here I am without mascara, with one coat, and with two coats.
This mascara gives a very, and I mean very natural look. I was expecting a bit more oomph than what I got so I was a bit disappointed by that. I don’t wear my mascara in the way that it “clumps” my lashes together, I like to keep them separate (am I making any sense?). So maybe if I clumped them together I would get more oomph out of it, but that’s just not how I roll. 🙂
Let’s see how it stands against my oily eyelids, here I am 8 hours later.
NO RACCOON EYES! I was VERY impressed with that because this is not a waterproof mascara and those usually give me bad raccoon eyes. As you can see my face is a bit oily, and my lids get like that too – hence the usual raccoon eyes. But I do have to say that lately it has not been as oily as it can get in the summertime; it’s usually twice as oily as this in the summer. The dry weather of the winter sure helps in that department!
Unfortunately though this mascara flakes a bit. Did you miss them in my oily face picture above? Here it is again. Clicking on the picture to see the full size image might help see the flakes better.
It’s not that much, but it’s still there so I had to mention it.
To test it out further I wore this to work a few times to see how it would do in a typical day and it did the same as when I tried it at home: no raccoon eyes but a few flakes.
As for cleaning, since it’s not a waterproof mascara a regular eye makeup remover works just fine.
– It’s oil proof – no raccoon eyes!
– Easy to clean off.
– Lack of oomph,
You should like this if:
– You’re looking for a very natural look.
What do you think of this mascara? Is the effect good enough for you or do you like a little bit more oomph? And do you “clump” your lashes together with your mascara, or do you keep them separate like I do?
