I hope you’ve been keeping warm this week. It’s been ridiculously cold here with crazy windchill effect. Brrrr!
I was sent these 2mm Neon Round Stud Rhinestones from Born Pretty for review and here’s what I came up with. Read until the end to get my 10% off coupon code!
I received colours #9 (green) and #5 (peach).
At first I wasn’t sure what design to do with these. I found they were summery colours and when I thought about that, flowers came to mind. And when I decided to wear Essie “Imported Bubbly” I thought it would be the perfect base for it.
I call this one “first bloom” because I find the colour scheme to be very springy rather than summery, so these are the first flowers that come out in the spring. 🙂
To apply the studs I put one layer of top coat, then used a toothpick to place the studs one by one, then I added another layer of top coat on top to seal them in. For the nails with the flowers I had to brush the final top coat from both sides to get it in all the crevices.
I really like these studs and I find even the single ones on the non-flower nails add a little something extra to a plain manicure so I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future use.
I also like the size of these studs. I have skinny fingers, so skinny nails, and bigger studs would not be able to lay flat on my nails.
I was hoping to try these under a black light to see if they would glow, but I don’t have one. Oh well, something to buy for next time. 🙂
I’ve had these on for 6 days now and I have not lost a single one. No chips in the polish either!
Have you used studs in your nail art?
