Happy New Year!
I wish you all a wonderful 2014! 🙂
How do you celebrate the new year? We used to do the big party scene years ago, but now we prefer relaxed evenings. We had a quiet night in with friends; we ordered pizza and watched a movie, then we chatted until a bit after midnight and that was it.
The one thing that I don’t keep quiet to celebrate the new year though is my nails. I like them BLINGY and I think this Sally Hansen “Sparks Fly” was the perfect touch. This is from their new Triple Shine line that they released a few months ago.
The square cap is not the actual bottle cap; it comes off. The brush is wide and thin and it works great, but the brush wand is almost as wide as the hole in the bottle so you have to be very careful when you put it back in, otherwise you get polish all over the opening and it gets all sticky and yucky as it dries.
I love the brush, but I’m not a fan of the bottle shape. I hold the bottle when I pull the wand out and wipe the excess polish off the side because I feel like the bottle might tip over.
The polish is a light blue base with various sizes of silver glitters. I thought the base was darker than that because it looks darker in the bottle, but I still love the end result.
I used 3 coats of this polish, followed by 3 coats of top coat. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I go a bit top coat crazy on glitter polishes because I love a nice smooth finish. 🙂
And of course we can’t have a glitter polish without a macro shot.
Even though the base is not as dark as I expected it to be, I’m still happy with the end result. BLING! 🙂 It’s too bad that the camera doesn’t pick up how the glitters sparkle under the light though – it really catches your attention.
Did you pick up any polishes from the new Triple Shine line?
