I’m finally posting my review about Etude House‘s Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming and Wonder Pore Freshner! I know some of you have been waiting for my review on the Freshner for a while now.
$ Note: All prices are in US dollars. $
Before I go any further I have to say that I got pregnant 2 weeks after starting to use these products and my skin has changed a lot with the pregnancy, so I cannot say for sure if some of the changes were due to these products or not.
Both products make the same claims:
7 in 1 Total Pore Solution
- Deep cleanse pores
- Maintain ph 4.5 +/- 1
- Control a large amount of the sebum
- Minimize appearance of pores
- Refine the skin tone
- Keep the elasticity of pores
- Moisturize inside and outside of skin
Sounds pretty good, huh?
Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming
We’ll start with the Whipping Foam since it’s what you use first in your face care routine.
This is a foam cleanser so you shake the bottle and squirt it in your palm. It’s a white foam and it’s pretty much odourless.
I feel like a man preparing to shave when I use this product, lol! The only difference is that I apply it all over my face.
I started using this back in September and at the time I still had oily/combo skin. It worked really well and left my skin feeling nice. In November it felt like it was getting empty so I put it aside until I could take pictures of it. I can be a bad procrastinator sometimes and I only took these pictures this week. At this point I have dry skin and I found that it stung a bit on my cheeks and it left my face feeling dry once I was done. So this cleanser is definitely for combo/oily skin types.
There are 2 things I don’t like about this product:
- The bottle is not see-through so you can’t tell how much product you have left;
- The bottle is made of metal so it is heavy – another point that doesn’t tell you how much product you have left.
This product was purchased on KollectionK for $17.60.
Wonder Pore Freshner
The Freshner is actually the first product that caught my attention because it has high praises on all the reviews I’ve seen.
I don’t know what these images say, but they’re funny. 🙂
The product itself is clear like water. And it barely smells at all! If you want to smell it you need to pretty much inhale the cotton pad. It’s really that light.
I first bought the 250ml bottle, and I liked this toner so much that I bought the 500ml bottle afterwards.
The 250ml bottle has the basic squirt type of cap (or however you call that), but the 500ml bottle has a pump cap which I LOVE! I do 2 pumps per use. I find it really helps make the product last longer because you have better control of the amount you use.
This Freshner feels refreshing. Not in a tingly kind of way or anything like that, it just feels good when I put it on.
After a few weeks of using these products together I did feel like my pores looked less visible, but as mentioned above I can’t say for sure if it really is these products that did that or if it’s the pregnancy.
I love the Freshner, as you can tell since I bought the 500ml bottle after finishing the 250ml one.
As for the Whipping Foaming: it works great, but I find it too much of a hassle to slather it on all the time. I would prefer something I could squirt directly onto my Clarisonic. I honestly never tried to use it like that so it might work, but I just don’t feel like I would get enough foam on the brush to do my entire face. And I also don’t like that I can’t see how much is left in the bottle.
Have you tried these products?
