Today is a special day on the blog because I have my very first guest post! Part of the activities we’ll be doing as part of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers is guest posting on each other’s blogs on a monthly basis. We also have themes for these guest posts and this month’s theme is Skincare Essentials.
I have the pleasure of introducing to you Cassandra from Exquisitely Chic. I met Cassandra through the CBB and she’s a sweetheart. She’s a licensed aesthetician and I know I’ll be learning lots of great tips from her.
Alright, enough blabbing from me, here’s Cassandra’s post!
Mommy’s Skincare Must-Haves
Every mommy’s skin is different. Some mommies get the pregnancy glow, some get pregnancy acne. Some have dry skin, some have oily skin. Some are experiencing signs of aging, some have more in-depth skin concerns.
There is, however, one thing every mommy has in common. They all have significantly less time to spend working on their appearance.
If a mom does manage to squeeze in time to work on her appearance something else is usually suffering for it (breakfast, lunch, shorter walks for the dog, fitness…).
What’s a mommy to do?!
Multitask! In today’s busy world multitasking products are springing up everywhere! Here are a few personal favourites that anyone can use:
#1 – Tinted moisturizers/BB creams (with SPF)
Save yourself the extra steps! IF you also find yourself a cleanser + toner in one (such as Mary Kay’s Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser) you’ll save yourself time only doing 2 steps instead of 5.
#2 – Tints (lip and cheek)
Tints are a versatile product that can provide rosy colour to your lips and cheeks without switching products! Be sure to throw a balm over a lip tint to avoid your lips getting dried out.
#3 – Stay-put shadows! (preferably one with a primer in it)
Save yourself the hassle of fiddling with a primer, several shadows and brushes. Get a shadow in a pretty, creamy colour that will stay all day. Apply all over the lid with your fingertips. Maybelline colour tattoos are an excellent option!
#4 – Mascara, black.
A good mascara that’s dark enough can provide enough definition that you shouldn’t need eyeliner.
And finally, my last multitasking product is………
#5 – A concealer (preferably a salmon-tone one)!
Likely not what you were expecting as concealer only has one use but it does the job of a good night’s rest, coffee, and it’s own all in one when applied to under eye bags and dark circles! Do double-duty with a cooling under eye treatment pre-application!
There you have it! Some of my favourite multitasking products for the multitasking mommy! What products do you use to speed up your daily routine? I want to know!
I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did! I know I’ll be needing these tips soon enough and some items are already on my shopping list. Thank you Cassandra!
