I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday. It was beautiful and sunny here, so fun!
Have you tried gel nail strips before? I did for the first time with these KISS Gel Dress in Royal Flush. Keep on reading to see how they worked out for me!
All the kits come with a mini file, mini orange stick, a wipe and shine pad, instructions, and this set has 40+ gel strips in it (counting the small bits).
Application is quite simple: make sure your nails are clear of oils (clean with acetone), choose the strip that best fits your nail and apply it as close to the cuticle as possible, but not over it. Smooth it on and fold the excess over the tip of your nail. File excess away in a side-to-side motion.
To keep for 1 week seal the strips with regular top coat (but not the quick drying kind). To keep the strips for 2 weeks seal them in with a gel top coat and cure under a UV lamp. If your nails are sticky after using the gel top coat you can wipe them with the “wipe and shine pad” included in the kit.
In my opinion you could skip the top coat if you’re in a time crunch. I don’t like to see top coat on my nails, I like it flush with my nail polish so even though I used top coat on these I didn’t really seal them in with it. Also, I found the strips to be more shiny on their own than with the top coat (I just used regular top coat).
There are so many funky looks I could’ve done with these strips, but it was late when I did them and I just didn’t have the brain power to think of fun things to do with the small pieces – other than this on my thumb.
I kept these on for 4 days and they still looked as new as when I first applied them. But I just couldn’t resist the urge to peel them off – just because. They came off very easily.
My first experience with the KISS Gel Dress nail strips was great! And with a baby on the way this will definitely be an easy way to do my nails without worrying about drying time.
I stored the rest of the nail strips in a ziploc bag so I can use them later.
These KISS Gel Dress nail strips sell for $6.97 CAD at Walmart.
