It feels like I just did an empties post yesterday and now it’s time for another one again! Time goes by way too fast, don’t you agree?
So, let’s take a look at what I finished up in April…
I think I had a pretty good bunch this month.
Bath & Body Works – Shower Gel in Berry Flirt
REPEAT ITEM! BBW shower gels often appear in my monthly empties, but you’ll rarely see the same scent twice because I usually buy the limited editions they come out with, like this one.
Repurchase? Yes, but not as often anymore because I’m starting to add more brands to the mix.
Fruits & Passion – Cucina Regenerating Hand Cream in Limoncello
This was a freebie I chose when placing an online order a while back, but I don’t think it’s available anymore. It moisturised well and smelled good, but it’s not a smell I would usually purchase for myself.
Missha – Sensual Fantasy Dazzling Sweet Body Wash
This was part of the Missha Travel Set that I received as a gift from RoseRoseShop. As soon as I smelled this it made me think of Bath & Body Works’ Sweet Pea scent. It lathered really well and did a good job. It was fun to try, but it’s not something that I need in my shower.
Palmer’s – Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks
This was the winner of my Pregnancy Belly Creams and I absolutely love it! I slather this all over my torso after every shower and I just roll in that cocoa butter scent – so yummy!
Repurchase? OH YES!
Alba Botanica – Natural Hawaiian Facial Cleanser
REPEAT ITEM! I’ve reviewed this item before and it’s appeared in my empties a few times. It was great when I had combo/oily skin, but for now with my dry skin it’s too much for me.
Repurchase? Not for now, but if my combo/oily skin returns after I give birth then most likely yes.
Bioderma – Sébium H2O Micelle Solution for combo/oily skin
I bought this when micellar waters were new and all the rage. I thought this would help me in lazy times to remove my makeup faster and be done with it, but it would take 5-6 cotton pads, and sometimes more, to remove all of my makeup. I was quite disappointed with that so I put it aside and forgot about it… until a few months ago when I started seeing it in empties posts where people were using it as eye makeup remover. So I started using it for that and it worked wonderfully!
Repurchase? This specific one, no. But the Sensibio one, yes (which I have tried a sample of).
Boscia – Recharging Night Moisture
I received this sample in my GLOSSYBOX of April 2013 and it was immediately put in a “to give” box because it sounded too heavy for my combo/oily skin. However, I’m glad I never gave it away because it sure came in handy with my now dry pregnancy skin.
Repurchase? Yes! Well, this product is no longer available so I bought the Super-Charge Overnight Moisture in the hopes that it’s its replacement.
NeoStrata – AquaYouth Filling Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
I bought this last year when I couldn’t find my regular eye cream. I like that NeoStrata specifies on their packaging (on the box) what age group each product targets, and this one is for 30+. It worked ok, but it’s nothing to write home about.
The Body Shop – Chamomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
I’ve been using this product for years and it works really well, but it does sting my eyes from time to time and it doesn’t remove waterproof mascara. So for that reason I will not be repurchasing it.
Fekkai – PrX Reparatives Shampoo & Conditioner
I received this duo in my Spring 2014 Loose Button Luxe Box. I really like this size of samples because you get a good idea of the product (as opposed to one time use foil packets).
Shampoo – smelled nutty, YUM! Lathered really well and a little went a long way.
Conditioner – smelled kind of plastic-y, yuck! But once rinsed out all you smelled was the nutty scent of the shampoo. It worked ok, just like my regular conditioner.
Duo – They worked well and did a good job, but other than the yummy scent of the shampoo they didn’t wow me.
Missha – Dong Baek Gold Shampoo & Rinse
These items were also part of the Missha Travel Set that I received as a gift from RoseRoseShop. I really can’t describe the scent of these. Every time I used them I would sniff them for a few minutes and I really had nothing come to mind. They’re not fruity or perfumy or nutty or anything like that, but at the same time they don’t have a typical shampoo & conditioner smell. They still had a pleasant smell though.
Shampoo – you really don’t need a lot of this one, wow! A little really goes a long way!
Conditioner – this one was a bit thick so you don’t need that much either, and it does a good job – I would say the same as my regular conditioner.
Duo – I found these a bit small for a travel set – I thought they’d be good for a weekend for myself. But given how you really don’t need much of each they lasted well over a week for me and my long hair. This travel set would make a great gift for a friend going on a trip.
Purchase? Individually, no. The travel set, maybe as a gift for a friend.
Tigi – Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier
REPEAT ITEM! I think this is the 4th appearance for this product! I love this product to define my curls. It has a crunchy finish which I like because it really holds my curls all day long.
Repurchase? I always do! However, I had not realized that I didn’t have a backup so for now I’m taking this opportunity to finish up other products I have.
Fresh – Mini Lip Treatment in Sugar Petal
I already reviewed this product and I love it! This colour matches my natural lip colour perfectly; it’s a “my natural colour but better” colour.
Repurchase? For now, no because I have lots of other lip products to go through.
Noya – Lip Balm in Vanilla
I received this in my Ipsy Glam Bag of August 2013. It smells delicious and works great. I might repurchase if it was available at local drug stores (which it is not), but it didn’t wow me enough to purchase online.
Purchase? No. And I already have a 2nd one that was a replacement for a perfume that leaked in another Ipsy bag.
Have you tried any of these products?
