Essence Cookies & Cream Lipgloss: ”Macaron, c’est bon!” & ”Be My Cookie Monster” – Review

Hi everyone!

Today I’m showing you the 2 Essence Cookies & Cream Trend Edition lipgloss that I bought last week (which you can see in my Shoppers Drug Mart Haul video). The colours are “Macaron, c’est bon!” and “Be My Cookie Monster”.

These claim to be ultra shiny lipgloss and non-sticky. Let’s see how they worked out for me…

Both lipgloss have the same scent and unfortunately they don’t smell like cookies & cream – they actually smell kind of plastic-y. But once on the lips you don’t notice the scent.

01 Macaron, c’est bon!

This is the pink-ish one of the two.

Since this is a sheer product I had to do my half-and-half comparison, so here it is.

And the full application.

As you can see it’s quite sheer – it doesn’t really add any colour to the lips, just a nice shine.

02 Be My Cookie Monster

This is the lightest one of the too – the white-ish one.

And of course another half-and-half comparison, followed by a full application. 🙂

This one is quite sheer as well and since it’s white-ish it does lighten the lips a wee bit. I find it also settles into the lines of the lips – or maybe it just shows because it’s a light shade (as compared to the other one).

So, are they both ultra shiny lipgloss? Yes, I find that they are.

Are they both non-sticky? Yes, they are both non-sticky! They do have more staying power than a lipbalm, so they do have a certain amount of stickiness for that, but my hair did not stay glued to my lips while I had these on – so they’re not sticky in that sense. Am I making sense? lol!

Lasting Power

Lately not many products stay on my lips very long because I drink SO MUCH water (due to my pregnancy). However, these still lasted a good hour before I had to reapply – which is extremely good for me! So if you don’t sip water every 5-10 minutes like I do then these should last much much longer on you.

Final Thoughts

I really like these lip glosses, but they are both very sheer and look almost identical once on the lips. So if you’re planning on buying these, but haven’t yet, I would recommend only getting 01 Macaron, c’est bon! (the pink-ish one) since that one doesn’t make little white-ish lines on your lips.

These retail for $2.49 CAD each at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Did you pick up anything from the Cookies & Cream trend edition? What do you think of these lip glosses, would you wear them?
