Looking Back on 2014 and Looking Forward to 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Did you party in the new year? This mama was in bed by 10:30, but it’s all good cause I got an early wake up call from mini-me. She decided that 3:15 AM was a good time to wake up. πŸ™‚

I didn’t do this last year, but this year I decided to take a look back at what happened in 2014. And later I’ll talk about my blogging plans for 2015.

2014 – A Year In Review

1st blogiversary
Let’s start at the beginning. Back in January 2014 I celebrated my one year blogiversary! And I held my very first giveaway to celebrate the occasion (hint hint, it’s coming soon again). That was a big milestone for me cause when I started this blog I didn’t know where it would go. So I was very happy to make it one full year, and so excited to be able to offer my first giveaway!

Canadian Beauty Bloggers (CBB)
At the end of January I teamed up with other amazing beauty bloggers and helped create the Canadian Beauty Bloggers, which we launched on March 1st. We now have 200+ beauty blogs in our blog directory, how exciting is that?!?

Guest Posts
One of the activities we do with the CBB is doing monthly guest posts together and I had my very first guest in March! I was also a guest for the first time that month! I like guest posts because it makes us (and you) discover new bloggers, and new products too depending on what they’re talking about.

My YouTube Channel
In June I decided to start a YouTube Channel. I featured mostly unboxing videos, but there were also a few shopping hauls and other random stuff. I really like doing videos and need to come up with new ideas so I can do more.

Giving Birth
The biggest highlight of the year was definitely giving birth to our beautiful baby girl on June 27th. We couldn’t be happier!!!

A Few Stats
Sarah from Workaday Ramblings included some statistics in her 2014 wrap-up post and I thought it was a great idea so I’m stealing it! πŸ™‚

2015 – What To Expect

There will be a few changes with the blog this year for various reasons.

Frequency of Posts
Since I gave birth my blog has been the busiest it’s ever been – you’d never guess I was a new mom! But towards the end of November 2014 something switched in my mind and I’ve started to breathe and relax more. I already started to slow down with my posts in December and you’ll see more of that this year. I need more “me” time. I’ll still post, but maybe 1-2 times a week as opposed to 3+ times.

Make-up Reviews
There will definitely be less make-up reviews for a while. Since I’m on maternity leave I only wear make-up if I go to an event (wedding, etc.), and that rarely happens, so until I go back to work and start wearing make-up more regularly there will be little make-up reviews (but they won’t stop completely).

Nail Polish and Nail Art
THERE WILL ALWAYS BE NAIL POSTS! πŸ™‚ I still do my nails, although maybe a little bit less often than before because once baby goes to bed at night I’m often tired and just sit in front of the tv. But I still do my nails so those posts will always be around.

Tea Reviews
I love tea and drink it often so you will start to see more tea reviews.

Crafting Posts
For those who don’t know, I make jewellery, but I have not been very active with that since I started my blog 2 years ago. However, lately I’ve been getting my mojo back and have been working on new items so I might start posting about what I create. I also want to be more crafty in general so it won’t all be about jewellery.

I think that pretty much sums it up. If I forgot anything, well, too bad. :p

2014 was a wonderful year and I think 2015 will be just as good, if not better. I hope you’ll stick around to see what happens. πŸ™‚

Before I sign off I want to thank all of you who’ve been here with me and reading what I share, whether it’s been from the beginning or just since yesterday. THANK YOU!!!
