The Body Shop Nail Polish in ”A Sunny Affair” and ”Apricot Kiss” – Swatches and Review

Hello hello!

* Products provided for review. *

Did you know that The Body Shop has nail polish? You do now! 🙂 They came out last year with their Colour Crush line and today I’m showing you 2 of the new colours out this spring. Let’s check them out…

I’ll talk about the brushes first so I don’t repeat myself with each colour. They’re wide and thin, just like I love them.

A Sunny Affair

This colour is a nice yellow. I wasn’t expecting to like this one because yellows don’t look good on me, but this is the best yellow I’ve tried so far. I still find that it clashes with my skin tone, but not as much as I thought it would.

Yellows are know for horrible formulas (like whites) and this one, I find, is fairly good. The formula has a nice consistency; it’s not watery thin like some tend to be. I still needed three coats for full opacity, but you could get away with two thicker coats because my third coat was really thin to hide the odd patch and streak here and there.

I found the finish to be a bit waxy and uneven on its own so I added a top coat (I add a top coat 99% of the time, I just can’t help it).

Apricot Kiss

This colour, to me, is a nice simple orange.

The formula is the same as A Sunny Affair: good consistency, required three coats for full opacity, but you could get away with two thicker coats.

The finish was the same as A Sunny Affair as well so I added a top coat over this one too.

I’ll be honest with you, since these colours don’t go well with my skin tone I only put them on to try them out and take these pictures, I did not wear them for a few days to see how long they would last. But, I do have a blue and a pink to try out and those I will wear longer so I’ll be able to report back on wear once I post those colours.

Also, if you’ve been following me for a while you know that even if a colour does not go well with my skin tone I’m still happy to have it because I love doing nail art and you never know what colour you will need. And I already have nail art plans for these two colours (along with the other two I received), so keep an eye out for that within the next month or so.

Have you tried polishes from The Body Shop? They’re $6.00 CAD a bottle, which I find a good price point. Take a look at their colour selection.
