It’s been a looong time since I’ve used a face mask, but I finally tried a new one!
A friend of mine went to Korea last year and brought back some face masks for his lady friends. I was so happy cause I love my KBeauty face masks! This one is the Etude House Skin Note Deep Moisturizing Hydrogel Mask with hyaluronic acid and seaweed.
This is a Hydrogel Mask with hyaluronic acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) and seaweed extract (Jania Rubens Extract), quenching dry and thirsty skin with its burst of deep, long-lasting hydration.

This is a hydrogel mask, which is new to me. The concept is the same as regular Etude House sheet masks though: leave on for 15-20 minutes, then massage remaining solution into skin.
This mask is slippery, and I mean SLIPPERY! Imagine trying to handle a wet sheet of non-tearable jello, and throw in some slime to make it even more slippery. I’m not joking, crazy slippery!
This mask is in two pieces. The top piece covers from the forehead down to the nose and the top half of the cheeks. The bottom pieces fits under the top one and covers the bottom half of the cheeks, surrounds the mouth and gets the chin. It doesn’t wrap under your chin though, is just stops right at the line where the face meets the neck.
The camera didn’t quite pick it up, but I found this mask gave me some kind of cyborg fake skin look.
I couldn’t really talk or move my face too much because the bottom part kept sliding down over my top lip.
This mask smelled really good – it was light and fresh.
After removing the mask, I massaged the solution into my skin. It never fully absorbs so I massage it for a few minutes then let the rest sink in. My face felt really hydrated and moisturized. That’s what I like about the Etude House masks, you don’t need to add moisturizer after using them because they take care of that for you.
This one never fully absorbed in my skin though, even in the morning my face was still a bit sticky from the solution. It felt like an overnight mask. But it was still hydrated and moisturized. This is definitely a great mask for people with dry skin.
Since this mask goes right under the eyes I noticed that the fine lines that were covered by the mask were GONE! Even the next morning they weren’t as noticeable as they usually are. They did eventually reapear, but this was a nice little unexpected side effect.
I really liked this mask and will need to track down the other masks in the Skin Note line.
Have you tried a hydrogel mask before?
