We’re at day 3 of the October Nail Art Challenge and today’s theme is Fall. I have these leaf water transfer decals from Lady Queen that I had yet to use and thought they were perfect for this day’s theme, so I used them! 🙂
The water decals are really easy to use:
- Prepare nails
- Remove film of plastic and cut desired design(s)
- Soak in water 10-20 seconds
- Wet fingernail and stick design to nail
- Remove excess water with paper towel
- Apply top coat
I started with three coats of Sally Hansen “Rags to Riches”, added the water decals, and finished it off with two layers of essence gel top coat (only one coat is necessary, but I’m very particular about my smooth finishes). 🙂 And voilà! Seamless leaves on your nails.
I’m really happy with how these turned out! The water decals were easy to work with and the colours really show the changing of the leaves that we get here in Canada in the fall. The leaves’ stems (or petioles to be exact) do get lost in the dark nail polish, but I love my dark colours so I don’t care one bit! 😉
Don’t forget to use my coupon code EVLC15 for 15% off your order when you shop on Lady Queen!
I think I’m going to bundle up days 4 and 5 of the challenge so I can wear this nail art longer than one day (because I didn’t quite prepare ahead). So come back in two days to see what I’ll create with abstract/geo and orange!
