Blinc Mascara Review

Hi everyone!

When it comes to makeup, mascaras are definitely the bane of my existence! If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I have the HARDEST time with mascaras; they either give me raccoon eyes, flake on me, or do both. I had found my holy grail, but it has been replaced with a new version that does not work for me. *cries* 🙁

Before all of this I was using the Kiss Me Ultra Volume Mascara by Blinc (which you can see in this post). That one never gave me racoon eyes or flaked on me so I decided to give it another try. Looking on Blinc‘s site, they no longer make that one. Boo! They have a regular version and an AMPLIFIED version. You can buy both in a kit, so that’s what I did! In this post I’ll be focusing on the regular mascara.

The wand is shaped like an hourglass. It’s a very skinny hourglass, but the shape is there. I find it a bit odd because I find it hard to get the lashes in my inner eye corner, and I always manage to get some mascara on my lids when I get close to the roots of my lashes. However, this mascara is easier to clean compared to others that I’ve used. I just wet the tip of my tweezers and gently pass it over the “dirty” spots and they come off easily.

This is what it looks like on me.

Here are some recent looks where I wore this mascara.

It doesn’t give me the oomph I’m looking for and it doesn’t build up all that well, but it’s not the most natural looking mascara I’ve tried either.

Now, does this one raccoon or flake? Here I am twelve hours after application.

It flakes… Keep in mind that this is twelve hours without any cleaning up whatsoever, so it’s really not that bad. And it’s easy to clean up as well, gently swiping with a tissue takes care of it.

If you give me the option between raccoon eyes or flaking I’ll definitely choose flaking because it’s much easier to clean up without messing your makeup.

This mascara is really easy to remove, just wet your eyes and gently grab and pull on your lashes – gently! I’ve never yanked off any lashes when removing this mascara in case you’re worried about that. 🙂

So, this one is not like the Kiss Me Ultra Volume Mascara they used to have, but maybe the AMPLIFIED mascara will be…? We’ll find out in a later post!

What is your holy grail mascara?

  • Julez Kane

My Holy grail of mascaras is Maybelline’s Full N Soft. However, they don’t sell that particular kind in Canada. Whenever I’m in the states I make sure to grab a whole bunch and if I ever run out, my step mom sends me some!

  • I was curious to see if you would get raccoon eyes with this, but yes flaking is the lesser of the two evils though not ideal 🙁 I do find it fun to clean up though with all those little wormy tubes going down the sink 😉

    • It seems I’m doomed for one or the other, so I’ll take flakes over raccoon eyes any day.
Yes, this one is definitely fun to clean off!
