If you would have asked me a few years ago to moisturize my face with oil I would have said HELL NO! Heck, I would have said that last year too! I have combination skin so keeping my face non-oily is a priority when it comes to skin care, and I can get a breakout if I’m not careful with myself (poor diet and bad face hygiene) so it seemed counter-effective to put oil on my face. I felt like it would make me oilier and give me breakouts galore.
That being said, in the past year I’ve tried a few face oils and you know what? They did not make my face oilier nor did they give me breakouts galore; they actually worked really well at moisturizing my face. So when I was contacted to try the aromic citrusy nighttime face oil ($40 CAD) I was happy to give it a try.
aromic is a new Canadian brand from Brampton, Ontario. They create natural products made from pure ingredients. The citrusy nighttime face oil is made of Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa, Oenothera biennis (evening primrose) oil, Citrus limonum, Citrus Auratinum Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Tocopherol.
This oil has a thinner consistency than the other ones I’ve tried so far, but it moisturizes just as well. I use 5-6 drops all over my face and neck and my skin feels soft and smooth. It moisturizes my face all night long and does not break me out.
This oil smells very citrusy and I do find it a bit strong, but I like the scent so I don’t mind it. If you’re sensitive to scents this may not be the best oil for you though.
Does this sound like an oil you would like? What do you use to moisturize your face for the night?
