This is not the post I had initially planned for today, but I decided on a whim yesterday that I would post about this today. Today’s post was going to be fitness-related (what’s in my gym bag), so you’ll get that one next month instead… SO I apologise in advance if I seem to be jumping all over the place since I didn’t give myself much time to write and edit this. 🙂
I mentioned in my very first post of 2017 that I’m turning 40 this year and I want to do it in the best shape of my life (so far). And while I started the year with good intentions, I didn’t have a plan and my workout schedule reflected that. January started off well, but February was starting to get patchy.
Also, with the showers being under renovation at the office, I didn’t do any workout that made me sweat since I couldn’t shower… That is until I decided to join Beachbody.
I had heard of Beachbody here and there before, especially with their P90X and Insanity workout programs. My husband had also done a bit of their Focus T25 program and really liked it. Apart from that, I had never really looked into what they had to offer.
In mid-February, I reconnected with a friend from university on Facebook and she happens to be a Beachbody Coach. I reached out to her to find out more about what all that meant, and two weeks later I jumped in with both feet! That’s right, I joined Beachbody, as a Coach! I started adding fitness on my blog to keep me accountable towards my goal, but also in the hopes that I can motivate others to start working out, and that’s exactly what being a Beachbody Coach is all about.
Beachbody has many programs to choose from to suit any fitness level and style, and with their new streaming service you can have access to ALL of their programs. Since my husband really enjoyed Focus T25 and the workouts are only 25 minutes, I decided to give that one a try.
On March 5th I took my before pictures and measurements and on March 6th I started with my new workout program. I have not missed a single workout since I started; check out my March workout calendar:
Yesterday was my four-week mark since I started my new program so I took new pictures and measurements and was really impressed with the progress I’ve made. I lost 4.4 lbs and a total of six inches, two of those around my waist.
I’m so proud of myself for having come this far in only four weeks, and this is just the beginning! This is why I’ve decided to share this with you today. I’m just so excited!
Just to put things into perspective, let’s rewind a bit and go back to January 14th, which was my first weigh-in of 2017. Between January 14th and March 5th (7 weeks) I only lost 1.7 lbs. Then I lost 4.4 lbs in four weeks doing Focus T25.
I knew things were going well when I started fitting into clothes again.
Just before I got pregnant, maybe a month or so, I had bought a bunch of nice pants for work. But I only got to wear them for a couple of months before they started getting too tight. I haven't worn them since, until I decided to give this pair a try this morning. Not only do they fit but I HAD TO WEAR A BELT! That's right, they're loose!!! Talk about a boost of motivation to keep going with my workouts and nutrition! 😀👍👌💪
AND when I wore these leggings for the first time this weekend and felt sexy AF.
Before Beachbody, I had a goal, but no plan. Could I have done better workouts that made me sweat and work harder? Of course! Did I have something to really push me to do it? Not really. Starting Beachbody gave me a plan and I knew I had to stick to it to see results. And I did, and I have! 😀
