Weleda Evening Primrose Products Review

Weleda is a somewhat new-to-me brand that I tried for the first time earlier this year. Today I’m back with them and sharing a few products from their Evening Primrose collection which is targeted for mature skin. I have their Age Revitalizing Day Cream ($47.49 CAD), Age Revitalizing Night Cream ($49.99 CAD), and their Revitalizing Body Wash ($14.99 CAD).

Weleda Evening Primrose face day night cream body wash

I’ll start off with the scent since all three products smell the same thing; they all have a very strong floral scent. I’m not familiar with the evening primrose flower so I cannot say if the scent of these products is similar to the flower, but they definitely have a strong floral scent. It smells like a real flower though, definitely not fake.

Ingredients

On Weleda‘s site, you will find all the ingredients they use and where they come from. If you’re curious about the ingredients in these products, I’ve listed them below so you don’t have to go searching for them.

Weleda Evening Primrose face day night cream body wash

Age Revitalizing Day Cream

Age Revitalizing Day Cream is formulated especially to revitalize mature skin. Antioxidant-rich and intensely hydrating, it protects skin against environmental stressors, plumps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stimulates skin’s vital functions.

This day cream absorbs well into my skin. I don’t find it quite enough by itself to fully moisturise my face so I use a face oil underneath.

This cream has no sun protection so make sure you add a product with SPF afterwards – I ALWAYS do!

Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Day Night Cream

Age Revitalizing Night Cream

A highly effective formula that utilizes Weleda’s holistic way of looking at plants and nature and 93-years’ of skincare knowledge to support the skin’s restorative process throughout the night.
Awaken to deeply nourished, plumper-looking skin with improved tone and firmness.

This night cream has a thicker consistency than the day cream and absorbs well into the skin. This one moisturises my skin well by itself, but I still use a face oil underneath out of habit.

Revitalizing Body Wash

Mild, plant-based surfactants derived from coconut and sugar preserve skin’s natural moisture level while softly lathering. Fairly traded macadamia nut oil helps provide skin with health-promoting nutrients, while organic evening primrose oil promotes skin renewal.

Weleda Evening Primrose Revitalizing Body Wash

This is a cream body wash so don’t expect to get a huge lather – you won’t get one. It still does a great washing job though and leaves my body feeling smooth and smelling of flowers.

Final Thoughts

These products are meant for mature skin and while I am reaching my 40s, I don’t feel like I need these types of products quite yet; I did not notice any improvement in my skin texture or elasticity. However, my face does not feel any worse than it did before so these products are doing a great job at keeping my face looking and feeling the same.
