I got rid of all my candles at the beginning of the year because I had none that were made with clean and safe ingredients. I miss burning candles, there’s just something about having a candle burning that adds a touch of warmth to the place.
Last week I was at my friend’s spa for its fifth birthday celebration. One of the products that she carries are Coal and Canary candles. I smelled all the ones she has and OMG THEY SMELL SO GOOD!!! I wanted to buy at least five of them, but had to limit myself to one for now. I love sweet scents and the Maple Liquors and Snow Capped Firs candle called out to me.
Coal and Canary candles are made with the highest quality soy blend wax and true to scent fragrance oils.
They also have a wooden wick made from organic and untreated wood, which will provide you with a unique burn experience and produce a soft crackling sound when lit. The wick also burns clean, free of smoke and soot, so you don’t have to worry about getting a black film all over your furniture and walls… and inside your lungs!
Want to hear the wick crackle? I made a little video for you. 🙂
Maple Liquors and Snow Capped Firs is a blend of maple, vanilla, and whisky. Its smell is warm and sweet and rich and inviting. Seriously SO GOOD!
An interesting thing I noticed about the wooden wick is that when you blow it out it doesn’t create nearly as much smoke as the candles I had with cotton wicks. The other ones I would always blow them out under the stove’s hood vent cause they created so much smoke. This one? Barely any!
That crackling though, I love it! When you’re all cozied up under a blanket reading a good book and you have this candle lit, the crackling just sets the mood perfectly. I’ll definitely add more candles from Coal and Canary to my candle collection!
And you know what? They’re Canadian! If you hadn’t heard of them before you really need to check them out.
If you’re in the Ottawa area stop by Nail Beauty Lounge to give them a sniff. I guarantee you’ll be leaving with one – if not more! 😉
What candle brand(s) do you buy?
– Chantal 🙂
