Today I have a review of two polishes from Sally Hansen’s Gem Crush collection: Big Money and Blingtastic.
This polish is a mix of micro gold glitters and small pink glitters. I put 2 coats over 1 coat of OPI Nail Envy. I then topped it off with 1 coat of Gelous and 2 coats of Nubar Diamont. I could have added a third coat of Diamont because the surface is still not 100% smooth, but it’s good enough. You also don’t need a colour underneath as this glitter polish is quite dense and covers very well. (I’m currently wearing this one, I did my nails last night.)
This polish is a mix of extra small blue glitters and medium silver glitters. Both size of glitters are bigger in this mix than in Big Money. I started off with 1 coat of OPI Base Coat, added 1 coat of Joe Fresh in Tin, then added 3-4 coats of Blingtastic. I then finished it off with a generous coat of Gelous. It needed a few more coats to achieve full smoothness.
I’m glad I added a silver polish underneath because I did not get a full coverage from this one, it’s not as dense as Big Money.
These nails were done before I decided to start my blog (they were my NYE nails) so I don’t have a macro shot of my nail. But I wanted to show you the glitters up close so I put 1 coat on a piece of paper.
I was a little disappointed with Blingtastic because I though it would cover better; it was not as dense as I expected it to be. That being said, I was extremely happy with the end result.
I have nothing bad to say about Big Money. It covers well in 2 coats and you don’t need a colour underneath.
I love glitter bombs and these definitely are GLITTER BOMBS!
