Today I made a Valentine’s Day themed glitter placement.
Glitter placement takes both patience and a steady hand. I have patience and a somewhat steady hand, but I could use more practice on the application. This is also only my second time doing glitter placement, so it will improve with practice. 🙂
I always start my nails with OPI Nail Envy, and for this look I followed with 2 coats of China Glaze “Snow”. For the glitter placement I put a coat of Sally Hansen Ultra-Wear Top Coat and applied the glitters while it’s still wet (so only do 1 nail at a time). I really don’t like this one as a top coat because it is very thin and dries really slow, but these reasons make it ideal for glitter placement.
For the glitters I used medium-sized hex glitters in red and silver (silver for the flowers on my index) and smaller ones in silver used on my pinky, that I got from Born Pretty Store. I apply the glitters with a dotting tool: I give it a quick lick to get the glitter to stick to it, then place it on my nail.
I then sealed it all with Nubar Diamont. I ended up putting 3 coats to get a smooth finish. Adding a top coat not only seals in the glitters, it actually makes them shine even more!
