Happy Saturday!
Do you play sports? I do, in the summer. In less than 2 months it will start up again and I’ll have to sport some nubs for about 4 months. I play Ultimate Frisbee and it does not agree with long nails. So now is the time to let them grow and that is what I’m doing. I don’t know how long I will go, but we’ll see.
Today I’m showing you a polish from Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics called Get Wet.

Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics is from Toronto, Ontario. Here’s a paragraph taken from their Web site:
My new aesthetician, Vanessa at Nail Beauty Lounge, carries this line and being the nail polish addict that I am I just had to try them out. These nail polishes cost $15 (CAD), which is more than what I usually like to pay, but you have to spoil yourself once in a while, right? 🙂
When you buy a bottle you also get a nail file (hot pink – love it!) and a card. Vanessa was out of cards for Get Wet so she gave me another one. They all have a story and a drink recipe on them.

The cards on the nail polish bottles have their own little sayings too. This one reads:

Rawr, lol! 😉
Okay, let’s get to the nail polish!
This polish is described as a “jelly pastel turquoise”. That would explain why I needed 4 coats for full opacity. It is a bit more opaque than your typical jelly polish so I would not use this for a jelly sandwich. I also found it streaky.
I know Vanessa mentioned that she only needs 2 coats (in general, not for this colour specifically), and she uses this on her clients for manicures and pedicures. Maybe I need to try one of their cream polishes next time.
The bottle cap is kind of rubbery, which I really like because you get a nice grip while applying the polish. The brush is your typical nail polish brush.

The end result was worth all the work because I LOOOVE this colour! It’s such a nice pastel turquoise. Love it, love it, love it!!!

These pictures are all with Nubar Diamont top coat.

Did I mention that I love this colour? I can’t stop looking at my nails!
Have you tried Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics?

I've never heard of these guys before but I love that they're Canadian and a bit raunchy! I'm so going to check them out.
I agree with you Cailtin! I just wish they were less expensive.
Love it, it's such a great pastel colour for spring!:)xx
Thanks Lolly Lou!
It really is a great colour for spring, right into my kind of shade, I love it!
I always love your reviews. You are so thorough from the company quirks to the brush to the application. I think your nails will be OK for ultimate – you can keep a little bit of a free edge, and if they are square or squoval tipped, I bet it'll be OK. Anyway, effing love this company – love that snippet and I love this colour! I wish the price wasn't as high but quality does pay off, especially if it's a fave colour, it's worth it. 😀
Aww thanks Mellisa! 😀
The long nails did not last long, I shortened them already, lol!
I will be trying this brand again, they have lots of wonderful colours so hopefully their cream polishes will only need 2 coats. And I love that they are Canadian!
