Happy Father’s Day!
I hope you all had a great day, and for those of you that can, that you spent it with your dads.
Are you as excited as I am for True Blood tonight?!? That being said, I won’t be able to watch it tonight so no spoilers in the comments! 🙂 This is my raid week (gamers will understand) so I’ll be online when it airs.
This nail art might not scream True Blood by itself, but it was done with Deborah Lippmann‘s polishes from her Forsaken collection for True Blood. The nude is called New Flesh and the deep red is called Bad Blood.
I wanted to try the blood splatter technique, but that will be more appropriate for another TV show (you know which one I mean if you watch it). So I went with the water spotted technique instead, which I’ve also been wanting to try out.
Water spotting is similar to a water marble where you put drops of polish in a glass of water. For the water spotting I only put one drop of polish in the water, then I sprayed it with some hair spray (the spray makes holes in the polish) and then dipped a finger in it. I did all fingers twice because Bad Blood is a jelly polish so it’s on the sheer side. I also taped my fingers this time which made cleaning up a whole lot easier!
I then finished them off with 2 coats of Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat. I’m really happy with how they turned out!
My husband said that they look more like rotting flesh zombie nails, which I’m okay with cause I love zombies too! 🙂
Have you tried water spotting?
