Are you still looking for a red nail polish for Christmas? Crabtree & Evelyn released four new shades this holiday season and today I’m showing you their two new reds: Cranberry and Wine.
I’ve only tried one polish from Crabtree & Evelyn before, Peony, and the formula was amazing so I was really excited to try these ones. Let’s see how they are…
First we’ll talk about the brushes… ok so I don’t have much to say here other than they are the typical round brushes and they work great.
Let’s start with Cranberry ($10 CAD). The holidays just wouldn’t be the same without cranberries. We’ve added a bit of magic to the classic crimson red, creating the perfectly bold, glamourous and festive colour for your nails.
Cranberry is a beautiful bright red that screams Christmas, or Santa’s suit! 🙂 The formula is a bit sheer and jelly, but covers really well with two coats. In these pictures I have two coats and no topcoat. The finish seems a bit streaky, but in real life you can’t tell (bright lights on the nails tend to highlight things you don’t see normally). This polish has a nice shiny finish on its own, but it’s not as shiny and glossy as I personally like it. I always wear a topcoat anyway, but I wanted to show you the finish.
And then we have Wine ($10). An enchanting blend of opulent, deep reds create an intoxicating balance that pares perfectly with your party dress.
Wine is a beautiful dark red that speaks to my heart. The formula is the same as Cranberry; kinda sheer and jelly, but fully opaque in two coats. The finish is the same too (shiny, but not quite glossy) so I added a topcoat on this one and, be still my heart, look at that beauty!
Both of these are beautiful red polishes and their formulas are great. If you can’t get them in time for Christmas they will be perfect for Valentine’s Day as well, which is just around the corner…!
Crabtree & Evelyn has a good selection of colours and I’m looking forward to trying more!
Are you team bright red or dark red?
