Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics “Anna’s Eurotrash” – Swatches and Review

Hi readers!

Back in April my aesthetician had a little giveaway on her Facebook page and I was the lucky winner, yay! The prize was your favourite colour from Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics’ spring collection and I chose Anna’s Eurotrash.

Before we go into details I must tell you that this colour looks very different depending on the type of light you’re in. Looking at it indoors it’s really dark and more on the green side, but going outside makes this colour POP! My light box uses bulbs that simulate natural/outdoors light so my pictures reflect what it looks like outdoors. I included a picture at the end of the post that I took with my cell phone so you get an idea of the darker side of this polish.

Every Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics comes with a nail file and a little note.

Their brushes are round and the caps are in rubber which I really like because you get a good grip on it.

This colour is described as a “cream teal green”. It has a very nice formula and it’s self-leveling, and it’s almost a one coater, but I used 2 coats. This polish has a waxy finish on its own which you can see in the next picture.

I always like to add a topcoat to protect and prolong my manicures, so I added one coat of Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat.

Here is the picture I took with my cell when I was trying to capture the waxy finish. As you can see it’s darker and greener (look at my thumb), and this is what it looks like indoors.

This next picture is for my girl Melissa, she’s looking for the perfect DAVIDsTEA teal. I didn’t think to take a picture with the polish on my nails, but here’s a comparison with the bottle. The polish is a tad more blue, but it’s not that far off.

Have you tried Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics? What do you think of this colour?

  • OMG that is soooo pretty, love love love loooooveeee

  • LOL I was totally wondering if this was close to a DAVIDsTEA teal and lo and behold – a comparison just for me!!! I am actually prepping for a post real soon about all my teals and how they compare to the DT teal so I'll be putting that together so all of you can see my insanity, haha!

I loooove the name of this polish. Eurotrash, haha! I always refer to myself as Eurotrash (even when I am Asian) when I wear my big glasses and baggy Adidas track pants. What a sight for sore eyes – but this polish isn't. I think I definitely like this polish with a glossy finish because seriously, screw this wax finish trend. (A bit of bitterness still, haha.)

    • I'm not a big fan of waxy finishes either, but that can easily be fixed with top coat, yay!

I'm looking forward to your teal post and to see which ones are close to DAVIDsTEA teal. I'm so going to compare mine when I try them now, haha!

  • I really don't like the wax finishes, but this polish is a really pretty shade. It's not incredibly original, but I'm a sucker for the David's Tea-ish teals as well 🙂 What a great product to win though, Cheeky Monkey has some crazy names for their shades.

    • I agree it's not a unique colour, but lucky for me I didn't have anything in this shade before. I have lots of mint greens and turquoise, but not quite teal like this.
And I love their polish names, they're just so fun! I just with their polishes were a bit less expensive because at $15 a pop it's a bit more than what I like to pay. I can get 7 Essence polishes for that price, lol! 🙂
