Montly Empties: August 2013

Hi readers!

I hope you’re all enjoying your long weekend for those of you who have one. I sure am!

August is done already?!? Where did the summer go?? This brings us to another round of monthly empties.

I always start a new month wondering if I’ll have any items for my monthly empties, but then they just start piling up! So let’s see what I finished up in August.

Bath and Body Works – Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps in “First Bloom” and “Mango Mai Tai”
As you know I always buy BBW hand soaps, I love them! I also rarely buy the same scents twice, but also most of the scents I buy are their limited editions so once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Repurchase? Always! Just in different scents.

Dove – Go Fresh Cool Essentials Anti-Perspirant in Cucumber & Green Tea Scent
This is my favourite deodorant, I use it all the time. It smells fresh and light, and works great with my body chemistry to stop any BO that wants to pop through.
Repurchase? I always do, and usually have backups.

Joe Fresh – Nail Polish Remover Regular
It’s gentle on cuticles and doesn’t dry out all the skin around the nails. It also has a pump dispenser which I really like. It’s not strong enough for glitter polishes, but it works well on creams and jellies, and really anything without glitter.
Repurchase? No, I have a similar product that I prefer. But I will keep the bottle though!

The Body Shop – Deep Sleep Peaceful Body Moisturiser
I use this one after I take my shower in the evening. I love the smell and it puts me in a relaxed state. I use it a lot in the summer because I play ultimate twice a week, which means showers just before bed.
Repurchase? I wanted to, but it’s been discontinued. 🙁

The Body Shop – Shower Gel in Madagascan Vanilla Flower
This shower gel smells really yummy, but at the same time a bit too perfumy for me. It lathers well, but I need a lot to keep a good lather to last while I wash my entire body.
Repurchase? No.

Biotherm – Biosource Tonifying Exfoliating Cleansing Gel for normal and combination skin
This was a sample I got from Shoppers Drug Mart. I really liked this cleanser, it worked well. However, the exfoliating beads are so tiny that you really don’t feel them so I don’t know if it was really exfoliating. I used it in the shower for my morning wash and I like something I can use on my eyes as well, and this one you’re not supposed to use around your eyes. I still did and did not have any issues, but I would prefer a cleanser that is more versatile for my morning shower.
Purchase? No, I don’t need exfoliating cleansers since I have a Clarisonic, and also the fact that I shouldn’t use it around my eyes.

Clarisonic – Gentle Hydro Cleanser for all/sensitive skin
This cleanser came with my Clarisonic. It does not lather; it feels more like a lotion. And it kinda stinks. I think it’s because it has no perfumes in it so it’s just the natural smell of the ingredients. It cleansed well, but I think it was mostly because of the Clarisonic. I don’t think it would cleanse as well on its own.
Purchase? No.

Nivea – Essential Lip Care
I already did a review on this product so I’ll keep it short: I really like it.
Repurchase? I probably will.

Shiseido – Facial Cotton
My favourite face cottons! These are just SO SOFT!
Repurcahse? I always do!

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes
I already did a full review on this product so I’ll keep it short: I don’t like them.
Repurchase? No.

Tigi – Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier
This is my favourite hair defining cream, I use it every day. It gives a mousse-like finish, but I find it’s not as crunchy as a mousse, and it lasts all day long. If you want to see what my hair looks like with this, I have a picture of this product in another product review. I love it!
Repurcahse? I wanted to, but the store was out. I need to get some more!! I usually have backups, but I forgot to buy some before I finished this one.

The Body Shop – Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist
I spray this on my pillow and sheets just before slipping into bed and it makes my bed a sleeping haven, I love it! I don’t quite know how to describe the smell, but I associate it with sleep and I really like it.
Repurchase? I already did!

And that’s it! What did you use up this past month?
