China Glaze ”Scarlet” – Swatches and Review

Hi everyone!

How are you doing this fine Sunday? We had a snow storm overnight and woke up to a beautiful blanket of whiteness. I love snow!

When I did my Christmas Lights nail art this past week I used China Glaze “Scarlet” for the red lights because I had not used it before. It seemed to be a bit of a jelly polish and I LOVE jelly polishes, so as my next manicure I just had to use it!

The brush is the typical round brush and it works great.

As I mentioned above this polish is a bit of a jelly polish, but it’s not too sheer. You can still see my lunulae a wee bit (especially on my thumb), and you can tell that it has a bit of a squishy feel.

New word of the day: lunula, or lunulae (pl). It’s the white half-moon at the root of your nails (I had to Google that).

The formula on this polish is perfect; it’s self-leveling and not streaky nor patchy. Plus it has a great glossy finish on its own. In these pictures I have 2 coats of polish and no top coat.

This polish is a perfect red for Christmas; doesn’t it look just like Santa’s suit?

What do you think of this colour? Do you like bright red polishes? Honestly I didn’t use to be a fan, but the reds I’ve been trying lately sure are making me love them, this one included!

Come back tomorrow to see a simple Christmas nail art that I did with this colour.

– Chantal 🙂
