Hey hey!
I hope you’re all having a great weekend so far. The weather is really nice here, it’s wonderful, so we got to do some yard work yesterday – and will be doing more today.
Today I’m showing you the 4 nail polishes that came out in essence‘s cookies & cream trend edition. Let’s take a look…

The essence brushes are usually wide and thin, which I love, but the brushes on these ones are the typical round ones. They work well though and I was able to do only 3 strokes per coat of polish.

Each bottle came with this set of 5 stickers, so I ended up with 4 copies!

Formula
All 4 polishes have the same formula so I’ll talk about that now before repeating myself with every colour.
As you have probably noticed by now, these are all metallic polishes. Metallics can be bad for streaking, but once these are dry the streaks pretty much disappear – which is awesome.
The formula itself will pull at the cuticles if you do too many strokes with the brush so try to do as little as possible. As I mentioned above, I did 3 strokes per coat of polish (one to the left, one to the right and one in the centre) and they all came out great. That being said, I did redo the first one I tried because I did too many strokes (I was afraid of streaks) and it was pulling – a lot. Lesson learned.
They are a bit sheer and streaky so 2 coats are required for full opacity, but the formula is self-levelling.
Swatches
All the swatches below are 2 coats plus top coat. All polishes were this shiny on their own (not requiring top coat), but metallics tend to highlight imperfections in nails and as you’ll see I have horizontal lines on my nails so the top coat was to tone them down a bit. You can still see the lines/bumps, but they’re less pronounced.
01 cakepop, that’s top!
This is an orange-y coral shade.

02 yummy yummy
Kind of a light taupe-y shade with a hint of silver in it. I also used one of the stickers with this one.

03 last night a cookie saved my life
This is a chocolate colour. I don’t know why I expected it to be darker, but it looks the same as it does in the bottle so the colour is accurate.

04 macaron, c’est bon!
And we finish off with the light shade of the collection – a nice pinky pearly shade that would be perfect for a wedding. And I used another sticker from this collection.

There you have it, all 4 polishes from the cookies & cream trend edition.
Are these colours you would wear? I don’t find they go all that well with my skin tone, except for 04 macaron, c’est bon!, but since they’re metallics they should be perfect for stamping (which I’ll most likely try in the fall given the colours).
Did you pick up any polishes from this collection? Sarah from Workaday Ramblings got them too, go check out her swatches.
These are all available at Shoppers Drug Mart for $2.49 CAD each – until they sell out.
