Mask Monday: Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask – Review

Hi everyone!

* Product provided for review. *

It’s been a while since I did a Mask Monday post, but it’s not for a lack of face masks. It’s just bad planning on my part. I blame new mommy memory – where did my brain go?!? ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I’m sharing with you the Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask. Have you heard of the brand Amie before? They’re a skincare line from the UK and they’re now available in Canada, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart, and I received a few products to try out.

Let’s take a look at this mask…

Purifies pores, combats oiliness and blemishes for clearer skin.

This product has peppermint in it and it sure smells like it – I really like it.

This mask has a nice creamy texture that is easy to apply with your fingers, and it works well with a mask brush too (I’ve tried both).

And it’s green, like the packaging.

Feeling #1 (with mask on)

When you first apply the mask you can kind of feel the “fumes” in your eyes. It doesn’t burn or anything like that, but you get a menthol vapour feeling – if that makes any sense.

The mask feels very cool when you have it on. And the coolness lasts as long as you have it on too; it’s not just an initial burst that fades away – although it is stronger at first and dims down a bit.

I find the cooling effect very pleasant. If you live in hot weather and need to cool off, grab this mask! ๐Ÿ™‚

It is a clay mask so it will harden, but it doesn’t seem to fully dry like other clay masks I’ve tried. Maybe I put it on too thick, but with the mask brush I was able to apply it thinner than with my fingers and it still didn’t fully dry. I can’t complain though cause I’m not a fan of masks that dry like the desert.

It doesn’t look like I have it on that thick, does it? This one was applied with my fingers.

This mask takes a while to rinse off with just water and your hands so I strongly recommend using a face cloth. It makes it easy-peasy. Trust me, I’ve tried both. ๐Ÿ™‚

Feeling #2 (after removal)

After it’s rinsed off my face feels nice and soft. It’s not as soft as if I used a scrub, but it is softer than it was before I put on the mask. And my face feels cool too, it’s even cool to the touch.

Final Thoughts

I didn’t think I would, but I love this mask! Maybe I put it on too thick and that’s why it doesn’t fully dry, but that’s how I like it so I’ll keep using it that way.

This mask retails for $12 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Will you be trying it out? What kind of face masks do you like to use?
