It’s time for another Canadian Beauty Bloggers’ guest post and this month I have the beautiful Jayne from Cosmetic Proof as my guest.
I envy Jayne’s nail art skills because she does AMAZING things. Check out her Halloween Nail Art that she did for the FASHION Magazine Beauty Panel. Isn’t it just awesome?!?
Alright, back to this post! 🙂 Our theme this month is Halloween, so let’s see what Jayne has prepared for us…
Hello to Chantal’s Corner! Chantal is one of the most genuine and warm beauty bloggers I know and it was those qualities that made me start reading a year ago so I am very honoured to be posting here!
So many nail art ideas float around for Halloween, but for those who aren’t inclined to slave away for 2 hours (yes that’s how long my last mani took and just for ONE hand) with a little brush, here comes the next best thing: nail art water decals. I’ve talked about these a lot on Cosmetic Proof because I am such a huge fan of them. I recently signed up to be part of the Nailed Kit Monthly Club ($10 USD/month) because the decals that were being designed were getting to me with their cuteness. The Halloween decals released for October were so cute that I signed up after seeing those candy corn colours!
The orange polish is Sally Hansen – Pumpkin Queen, a fully opaque creme orange in 2 coats and the white is Sally Hansen – OMGhost.
I ended up having to turn the striped decals sideways because they were a little narrow for my nails. Even sideways left me a little bit of a gap. With the Nailed Kit decals, you need to cut as close as possible to the design because you don’t want extra bits hanging around. The instructions say to smooth out bubbles with a moist cotton ball/cloth, but I found that the decal would move as well. Instead, I used a small, flat paint brush to “paint out” the bubbles as I felt I had more control.
Thank you so much Chantal for letting me guest-post today!
What will you be sporting on your nails this Halloween?
Thank you Jayne! I love using decals and these are so cute! I’ll have to check them out.
Be sure to check out Jayne at Cosmetic Proof and give her a follow!
