Hi everyone!
Today’s post is about a limited edition nail polish that came out in the fall of 2012. Yup, it’s been four years already! But (1) it’s what I put on my nails last night – for the first time! – and (2) you can still buy it on ebay. 😉 This one is from essence‘s Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 collection and is called 04 Edward’s Love.
The brush on this one is thin and really wide (wider than the latest releases they’ve been doing) with a rounded tip, which I love! I can do my pinkies in one swipe.
Edward’s Love is a black jelly base with micro silvery iridescent chips in it. Let’s take a look at a macro shot, shall we?
The formula is medium thick and I got almost full opacity with two coats, but there were some small patches here and there so I added a third coat. I finished it off with two generous layers of topcoat because I love me a smooth finish.
I really like how it looks on the nails, the iridescent chips glam it up and give it life as opposed to a plain black polish (which I still love).
I do have to say that this one smells strong, whoa! I love essence and have LOTS of their nail polishes and I have not used one that smelled strong like this before. I’m actually getting a little woozy sitting here. And this is from someone who LOVES the smell of nail polish. Even my husband commented on the smell. I usually show him my nails when I’m done, but this time he did not want me to get close to him.
Did you grab anything from this collection when it was out? I still have two more nail polishes that I have yet to try so you will be seeing those at some point.

Wow this nail polish is gorgeous. I have been loving the Essence gel nail polishes lately, in fact I am wearing one today and I am glad it doesn’t smell that bad, I cannot stand the intense smell of nail polish! x

I haven’t tried many of their gel polishes yet since I have so many from them that I have not tried yet, but they usually don’t smell strong and I actually love their regular smell, hehe! This one however was VERY different.
Ah, I love glittery black polishes- so pretty! I recently tried Essence’s gel base coat and it’s great stuff 🙂
I love how the glitters give it dimension, and my nails are sparkling! 🙂
I have the gel base coat too, but haven’t really used it yet.
Such a pretty polish though despite the strong scent!
I, too, show my husband my manicures after I’m done. Sometimes I will hold it in front of his face while he’s playing Diablo 😀
I was really surprised by the smell of this one, and light headed too, not good.
