Makeup removal, it’s a step I often wish I could skip (cause I’m tired and lazy at night), but at the same time I feel so good when my face is freshly clean. Not to worry though, I NEVER skip on washing my face every night. I just can’t not do it, just the thought of it makes me feel yucky. So I was really happy to have the opportunity to try the FaceOff Cloth ($14.99 CAD).
FaceOff is an all-natural, soft and reusable face cloth that removes all types of makeup, dirt and grime without the use of harsh chemicals and detergents. It eliminates the need for makeup removers and facial cleanser pads, wipes, oils and creams!
Sounds pretty good, right?
Now for the test, on the day I took the following pictures I was wearing primer, BB cream, concealer, translucent powder, bronzer, blush, highlighter, eye primer, eyeshadow, brow pencil, and mascara. That’s pretty much my typical makeup day.
Here is what the cloth looked like once I was done.
I then used some cotton pads with micellar water to see if there was any makeup left.
As you can see there was a wee bit of residue left. Not much, but there was some.
When you use it, don’t completely wring out the water because the first time I tried it that’s what I did and I found that it tugged on my skin, and I had to pass over my eyes several times and just had to stop because it was too uncomfortable. You don’t need to leave it dripping wet, but leave some water in and it’ll be easier to use.
Once you’re done you wash the cloth with soap and water and let it dry. Then it’s ready to use the next night.
I always do a two-step cleansing and with this cloth I still need a two-step cleansing. So I don’t use it for makeup removal, instead I use it with my Les Soins de Jacynthe products to remove the cleansing oil. I find it perfect for that.
Have you tried the FaceOff Challenge? Is this something you would use?

I am not used to these wash clothes because I don’t like to rub my skin when removing makeup. But for lazy days i think it is better than nothing!
Yes it’s definitely better than nothing! I personally prefer using a cleanser with my hands instead of a cloth, but I use this one for something else so it works out. ๐
I haven’t tried this one but I bought the Makeup Eraser in the spring and really like it for when I am too lazy to do the whole makeup removing face routine. It tugs on the skin if you don’t have enough water in it too.
They must be made of similar material – or the same! ๐
I’ve really been loving this one for removing my cleansing oil, it works great for that!
Ah! That’s such a great idea! Use it to wipe off thick cleansing oils! It seems like this cloth was a bit of a fail for most people. I still love my cheapie Sephora one. It totally did the trick!
It works perfectly to remove cleansing oils! I’ve been using it a lot for that lately. But yeah, it’s a no-go for makeup.
