Pastel nail polishes tend to have streaky and patchy formulas, and often require three coats for full opacity. China Glaze released their Pastels collection this Spring and I have three of the new colours to show you. Let’s see if these nail polishes followed the usual pastel ways…

Let’s start with My Sweet Lady, a beautiful peony pink crème. This is the first one I tried and I was quite impressed with the formula because it was fully opaque with only two coats! I did go a bit thicker with my second coat, but that’s always what I do with pastels and most still need a third coat. Not this one, it was perfect with two coats. I then finished it off with a layer of top coat and this is the result.

Next up we have A Waltz In The Park, a beautiful cool-toned purple crème. This one also reached full opacity with two coats with a thicker second coat, and was finished with a top coat.

I saved my favourite colour for last: Spring Jungle, a light pistachio green crème. This one, like the other two, reached full opacity with two coats (thicker on the second) and was finished with a top coat. I mean, look at it!!! 😍

I was seriously impressed with the formula of these polishes. As I mentioned earlier, pastel polishes tend to be more work because of their formulas, but not these ones.
One thing to keep in mind is that you absolutely NEED a base coat for these. I first tried them without a base coat and the formula was HORRIBLE. However, a base coat fixed that issue. I always use a base coat, but am sometimes lazy and tired and try to save time by skipping it, but a base coat is a MUST.

What colour(s) would you go for?

These colours are gorgeous! I always love pinks and purples in the warmer months, and can see myself getting a lot of use out of both of those!

They are definitely great colours for the summer, and I love how they look with tanned hands.
Who doesn’t love a good pastel nail polish?! These are so stunning, and I cannot wait to try them myself! xoxo – Lauren Will from LaurensLipGlossary.com
