After buying the Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in 10 Porcelain Ivory since it’s the lightest shade available in Canada, and having it be too cool and dark for me, I found out that in the States they have a shade called 03 Light Ivory. I was able to order it from ULTA and here are my thoughts on it…
I already went over the ingredients and the packaging in my review of the shade 10 Porcelain Ivory so I won’t go into those details again.
Let’s go straight to the colour, here is a comparison between the shades Light Ivory and Porcelain Ivory.
You can tell that Light Ivory is warmer, but is it really lighter…? Let’s see what it looks like on me.
Hmm… it’s not as light as I hoped it would be. I find it’s the same “lightness” as Porcelain Ivory, but just a warm tone instead of a cool tone. These pictures actually make it look a wee bit lighter than it actually is; it really makes my face looked tanned compared to my neck.
I decided to compare it with the L’Oréal Paris True Match Powder in W2 Light Ivory, let’s see:
The Maybelline powder is darker than the L’Oréal powder, and seems to be a teensy weensy bit cooler too. It looks like the lighter shade of the L’Oréal powder that they have in the States would have been better instead of this Maybelline one. But I’m not putting another order on ULTA again; I know there’s something here in Canada that will work.
When I received my package I knew that this powder wasn’t going to be light enough as soon as I saw it. It will be good once I get a light tan though so it’s not a loss.
My search for a pale warm-toned pressed powder continues. Do you have any recommendations?
