Velvet Touch Natural Hair Remover Mitten

Hello everyone!

* Product provided for review. *

Do you shave your legs, wax them, treat them with hair removal cream? I usually get my legs waxed, and I’ve already talked about how I wax my legs at home. I was really intrigued when I received these Velvet Touch Natural Hair Remover Mitten because I’ve never tried anything like them, and I have to admit that I was skeptical…

Unlike painful tweezing, waxing, razors or harsh chemicals, the Velvet Touch Mitten gently massages away unwanted hair and leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.

Tu use: Rotate the mitten in a circular motion moving down the leg.

These feel like very soft sand paper – that’s kind of what they are.

My legs were in need of a wax so I tried a mitten on one leg, and it really does work! I know this next picture is not the best, but I just wanted to show you that it really did remove my hairs.

My leg felt very soft after I was done because it gently exfoliates your skin as you’re sanding away your hairs. Just be careful you don’t apply too much pressure or go over the same spot too often because you’ll irritate your skin if you do so. It’s also good to moisturize once you’re done. I would say about 30 minutes after I was done my leg had a little burning sensation, but after I moisturized it went away. I think my skin was just too dry from the exfoliation.

My hairs grew back in the same amount of time they would have if I shaved, but my leg still felt softer than if I had shaved. I think it’s because when you shave the razor just cuts your hairs straight, but the light sanding from the mitten makes the tips of your hairs smooth. Makes sense? ๐Ÿ™‚

The only downfall is that this does take longer than using a razor. It’s not something I would do in the morning while I’m getting ready. I imagine myself using this in the evening while watching tv. I say “imagine” because I rarely shave, I usually wax (as previously mentioned).

Curious about this product? It retails for $4.49 CAD on, and they also list the retailers that carry it. They also have natural hair removers for the face, bikini, and one to use in the shower.

Have you tried a hair removal mitten before? Would you use one?

  • omg you liked this too! I can’t handle it! The feeling of the sand paper on my skin made my skin crawl! Ahhhh!

  • I liked this but didn’t find it really removed my hair…but it’s great for prepping it when I use my epilator! And it does make my skin so so soft

    • I found I had to pass quite a few times for it to remove my hair, but it worked in the end. And yes, the skin is left so soft!

  • I never have but I have always wondered about them!!
Very very interesting. The results seem good! I’m just scared of the pain, it seems like my skin may get irritated.. Hmmm now I’m sort of more intrigued.

    • Yeah I think why it burned a bit for me was because I used it on the same spots a bit too much. My hairs were a bit long though. My skin didn’t look red or anything, it was just a feeling. But it was super smooth!!!

  • It was different to use. But I did notice the smoothness afterward.

  • I tried it too and didn’t think it would work, but it does! I still prefer shaving but I could see having these around for touch-ups or when I miss a spot shaving. I just don’t like how the paper is kind of flimsy.

    • Shaving is definitely faster! But yes, this is good for touch-ups. Also good if you want to be lazy and do it while watching tv. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m intrigued. I assumed that it would hurt to basically sand paper away hair, but if you say it’s not bad, I guess I’ll give it a go.

    • It’s actually quite soft on the legs, doesn’t feel like sand paper at all. Just make sure your hairs are short when you use it that way you won’t have to rub too long – like I did. ๐Ÿ™‚
