Hi readers!
If you know me you know I love doing nail art, and if you didn’t well you know now! 🙂 There are certain types of nail art that can be messy and you end up with as much nail polish on your fingers than on your nails – like stamping, water marbling, and gradients. I heard of liquid nail tape before, or even about some people using liquid latex to protect the fingers, but I never got any so I was extremely happy when the opportunity showed up to try Cuticula Scented Liquid Nail Tape by Kristin of rainysunraynails.
Kristin sent me her Winter Mini Trio Collection ($10 USD) which has Hot Cocoa, Peppermint Stick and Gingerbread. Don’t they sound yummy?!?
The trio also comes with pretty Christmas-themed nail art decals. They’re all packaged in an organza pouch with pretty and festive glitters/decorations. You have to love it when people put care into their packaging.
These all smell wonderful and smell just like their names. I thought Hot Cocoa would be my favourite just cause I love chocolate, but Gingerbread stole my heart – or should I say my nostrils. 😉
Don’t smell directly from the bottle though because you’ll initially get a strong chemical scent, which threw me off at first. But when you apply the liquid nail tape to your fingers all you get is the wonderfull smell of whichever scent you’re using.
I tried all three and they all dry really fast – by the time I’m done applying on my pinky my thumb is dry and ready to get dirty. You can tell they’re dry when they become transparent (I guess I went really thick on my ring finger – but the top layer was dry).
Look at those dirty dirty fingers. At this point I would usually dip cotton buds in acetone and clean my fingers, but that is VERY drying to the skin.
The liquid nail tape is REALLY easy to remove and it all comes off in one go.
Look at those clean fingers – I have minimal cleanup to do, yeah baby! Next time I’ll even get closer to the nail with the liquid nail tape and have even less cleanup to do – if at all.
I was in heaven when doing my nails – seriously SO excited about the minimal cleanup! If you like doing nail art you NEED liquid nail tape! I’m already looking forward to the next time I can use these because they make messy nail art NOT messy. It’s been a while since I’ve done water marbling… 🙂
The scents linger on the fingers. When I brushed my teeth about an hour after doing my nails I still got whiffs of Hot Cocoa, Peppermint Stick and Gingerbread. It smelled wonderful.
You can also buy these in individual full size 15ml bottles at $7 USD each. Visit Cuticula on Etsy! And follow Kristin on Instagram – she does amazing nail art!

hey i think i’m not understanding something lol so the tape isn’t the white polish right? but the stuff around your nails and cuticles? but the tape has glitter in it? (i feel like i’m missing something obvious)
Exactly, the tape is on my skin, not on my nails. It’s to protect my skin from the polish when I do messy nail art. And yes it has glitters in it. 🙂
Okay… I NEED this! I’ve seen this being used before in videos but didn’t know what it was called. The stress of cleaning up after would be a distant memory with this lol I’ll check her Etsy out. Thanks Chantal for the post!
Yes you need this!!! I’m so excited about nail art now cause there’s no more mess to clean up!
I need this for regular nail art.. as in just painting my nails lol
lol!!! I always clean up when I do my nails, even if it’s just a single colour. I’m messy. 🙂
OMG OMG. I must get this. I was using Liquid Palisade, but the scent drove me bonkers! AND it was so expensive!
Aww, I want to buy these but the shipping is kind of crazy…
I completely forgot to check shipping to Canada! Yeah it’s a bit much, but if you buy more than one I think it helps. 🙂
The scents of these ones are really nice… as long as you don’t smell directly from the bottle. The scent reminded me of when I used to get my hair permed in the 80s, that strong perm scent, you know?

Definitely a must for nail art!
