The Canadian Beauty Bloggers‘ theme this month is purple so when I did my nails this past weekend I looked in my untrieds to see what I had that was purple. The result? This one from Morgan Taylor called Eye Candy that I received in my Spring 2016 Luxe Box.
The brush is wide and thin which I usually love, but the wide part on this brush is not very wide so I didn’t find that it worked as well as other brands’ wide brushes.
Eye Candy is kind of like lavender meets periwinkle; a blue-leaning purple, or blurple for short. 😉 It’s a very pretty colour.
The formula wasn’t my favourite though; I found it quite thin and needed three coats for full opacity. I went quite thick with the third coat as well cause if I went as thin as the first two coats I would’ve ended up putting on a fourth coat, which I did NOT want to do. The finish was shiny on its own, but quite uneven so I added a layer of topcoat to smooth things out.
Once all was said and done I quite liked the end result. I find it’s a soothing colour, don’t you think?
This was my first experience with the brand Morgan Taylor and it wasn’t the best, but I won’t put down the brand just based on one polish. I do have a glitter bomb that I received in my Summer 2016 Luxe Box and it’ll be a perfect colour for the fall so you’ll be seeing that one in the coming months.
