Good evening! … or morning! … or afternoon! 🙂
Today’s post is my manicure for week 5 of the Busy Girl’s Summer Nail Art Challenge, for which the theme is Mix Match.
Are you all having a wonderful weekend? I sure am! I forgot to mention yesterday that I’m on vacation for 2 weeks, WHOOHOO!!! 😀 This first week I’m spending it at home with my hubby. We have nothing specific planned, just a whole lot of relaxing. And the second week I’ll be spending it at my dad’s (it’s a 10h drive from here).

And as I’m working on this post I’m drinking a generous glass of Yellow Tail Shiraz, mmmm! You can see where I filled it up based on the condensation on the glass, tee-hee! 🙂

A mix ‘n’ match manicure, sometimes referred to as a skittle manicure or a skittlette, is doing something different on every nail. You can just do different colours, or do a different art/pattern on every nail. I chose different colours cause I just couldn’t think of patterns to do.
For these I went with Rainbow Honey polishes since I have a few that are all in the same colour scheme. I also used GOSH “Light Rose”.

Here is what I used, and how many coats: (links are to my reviews of the products)
- Thumb: Light Rose x3 + Be Mine in stripes
- Index: Pinkie Promise x3
- Middle: Sweet Talk x3
- Ring: Light Rose x3 + XOXO x2
- Pinkie: Be Mine x3
And this is the result:

I then added 3 coats of Gelous on the nails with glitters (index, middle, ring), and 1 coat of Butter London – Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat on all nails. Yes, I always go a bit topcoat crazy on glitter polishes. 🙂

I’ve never done a skittlette before and I really like how these turned out!
What do you think?
