Royal Gold ”Radiant Foundation” in colour 21 – Review

Hello hello!

* Product provided for review.*

Today I’m back with another product that I received for review from RoseRoseShop. This one is the Radiant Foundation by Royal Gold.

This foundation comes with an applicator sponge. The sponge has a little plastic tray so it’s not sitting directly on the foundation when you close it.

Doesn’t this look like a real pan of gold?!? I almost don’t want to use it!

Whitening / Wrinkle Improvement / UV protection
Contains Pure Gold: Gold Leaf 3mg / gold 1ppm
Moist and glowing base make-up
Long Lasting Make-up

This product has an SPF35 PA++.

I received the colour no.21, but this product also comes in no.23 which I’m guessing is maybe a bit darker…? But that’s just a guess.

The colour is indicated on the security seal. It’s also on the bottom of the compact (not shown).

This foundation has a floral scent, but it’s not one I quite enjoy. It lingers too, after 3 hours of having it on my face I could still get whiffs of it.

This product gives a very good coverage. Here’s a half-and-half so you can see how it does against my red-infused face.

And now a full application.

This foundation definitely falls in the full coverage group. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% full coverage because you can still see a hint of redness on my cheeks and chin, but I would say it’s a good 90-95%.

This foundation really lightened my face – a lot – so I always had a little “oh” moment when I would see myself in the mirror, lol!

Even though it makes my face match my neck pretty well I find it washes me out too much.

A little really goes a long way with this one, I did not have to re-dip the sponge often when I was applying it.

The formula is really creamy and heavy so I don’t think this would be good for combination and oily skin types.

This product gives a dewy finish.

Here’s what it looks like after you’ve used the product.

Lasting Power

Now that I have a normal skin type, thanks to my pregnancy, I cannot say how this product would last throughout the day with combo/oily skin.

However, I can say that this product did feel heavy and the dewy finish did give a bit of an oily sheen to my face.

I have large pores and a few fine lines around my mouth and I found that this foundation highlighted them as the day went on. It became more and more a cakey finish.

Bottom Line

This foundation is definitely for dry skin types looking for a full coverage product. And obviously for very pale skin tones. But I would stay away if you have combo/oily skin.

This product retails for $65 USD on RoseRoseShop, but they usually have sales going on so you would never have to pay full price for it. It’s currently listed at $55.25 (15% off).
