THEFACESHOP Clean Face Products – with video!

Hey everyone!

* Products provided for review. *

Using products made for your skin type is very important. But first you need to know your skin type – really know it. For the longest time I thought I had oily skin, but most products for oily skin dried me out and left my skin feeling tight, which is not a good thing. About two years ago I finally found out why… I have combination skin, but I also have dehydrated skin. You might be wondering the same thing I did when I learned that… how can my skin be dehydrated if it gets so oily? Here’s the difference… having dry, normal, combo or oily skin is your skin type and has to do with your skin’s ability to create sebum (oil). Having dehydrated skin is a skin condition and has to do with your skin’s water content.

Please note that I am NOT a skin expert, these are things I learned while doing my own research into the subject.

Why am I talking about my skin type? It’s so I can better explain how the following products work for me. I was sent the Clean Face line from THEFACESHOP to try out. These products are for combination and oily skin, and also acne-prone skin – which I also have. I’ve been using them for about three weeks now. Did they leave my face yearning for moisture? Let’s find out…

Curious about how I use these products? I filmed myself while getting ready for bed! 🙂

Acne Solution Foam Cleansing ($15)

This Clean Face Cleansing Foaming offers you a radiant and even complexion by eliminating the impurities that can clog pores. Enriched with tea tree oil, it helps reduce the appearance of imperfections and eliminates excess sebum.

This cleanser lathers like no other! You really don’t need a lot, and the more you wash, the more it lathers. And you can feel it too, it’s like a layer of creaminess between your hands and your face – it feels really nice.

Your face feels very squeaky when you’re rinsing it off, but once you’re done and you’ve dried your face it does not feel tight at all (which I was expecting because of the squeakiness).

This cleanser also smells really nice; it’s fresh and light and does not linger.

Mild Toner ($15)

The Clean Face toner clarifies skin tone and gives your skin its natural glow. Enriched with tea tree oil, it completes the cleansing process while refreshing skin and eliminating excess sebum.

I find this toner has a light earthy smell that I really enjoy. I apply it with a cotton pad and after using it my face feels smooth and rehydrated.

Oil-Free Moisturizing Cream For Acne-Prone Skin ($15)

This cream offers you an even and flawless looking complexion! Enriched with tea tree oil, it helps eliminate excess sebum and reduces the appearance of imperfections by hydrating the epidermis. Perfect for acne prone skin.

This moisturiser looks like a gel cream. It absorbs really well into the skin and leaves it looking plump (that’s the first thought that poped in my head the first time I used it). However, it does not have SPF so you’ll need to use a separate product for that.

This one also has a light fresh smell that does not linger.

Final Thoughts

These products left my face feeling great and not wanting more hydration like I often experience with products made for combo/oily skin. I found they also helped with oil control – my face was not as oily as usual when I woke up in the morning, and during the day I found I could go longer before I had to start blotting.

As far as acne help/prevention, these products did nothing for me so I would need to add some other product for that.
