Do you change your makeup often? I don’t. I don’t have much time in the morning to play around with colours and such since I usually have a toddler to watch while I get ready. So I usually grab for the same items day after day. The one thing I play with the most (colour-wise) is eyeshadow, but for my lips I tend to always reach for the same product. Last week I decided to try a new product – woo, living on the edge! 😉 I remembered that I had this mini lippie from Buxom, but I don’t even remember when I got it from. I thought it was from a past beauty subscription, but a search on my blog revealed no such thing. Where did it come from???
Anywho, today I’m sharing with you this Full-On Lip Polish from Buxom in the colour Sophia.
Sophia is described as a sweetheart pink and I can’t argue with that. The lippie has a doe foot applicator that works well. And it smells like warm vanilla, SO YUMMY!
The Full-On Lip Polish collection is described as plumping lip gloss with shimmering, tingling shine. The product does give you that minty tingling feeling and when I first apply it my lips feel cold. It’s like if they stayed outside with the winter and the rest of my body came inside to the warmth. If I reapply it within 30 minutes or so the applicator actually feels cold on my lips too.
It’s happened a few times that I applied the product a bit too much inside my lips and I swallowed some. It gave me a weird cold feeling in my throat, but it wasn’t all over, just a little spot. It didn’t last long either.
This lippie doesn’t really add any colour to my lips, but it adds a beautiful shine. Here is a half-and-half so you can see.
It settles into fine lines a wee bit, but it’s not noticeable in real life. Heck, you can barely see it in these pictures! But I just felt like I had to mention it.
I drink a lot of water, and I mean A LOT of water, and I find I can go a couple of hours before I need to reapply so that’s good.
As far as the plumping aspect goes, some days I don’t notice anything at all and other days it seems to give my lips a little bit of oomph. You probably wouldn’t notice it cause it’s very subtle, but I can see it… some days.
I really like how it gives my lips a juicy look – I love glosses for that!
I almost forgot… is it sticky??? I find it has a little bit of tackiness, but I wouldn’t call it sticky. As far as having your hair sticking to it, I feel like it might a little bit, but this is a total guess based on how it feels on my lips. I really couldn’t tell you cause my hair does not reach my mouth anymore! BRING ME ALL THE STICKY GLOSSES! 😉
This is definitely the type of colour that I’m drawn to – remember Sonia Kashuk “Prettiest Pink”?
