Back in the fall of 2012 a-england released their Gothic Beauties collection and I purchased four of the shades. I had tried three of them already, although that was before I had my blog so I will wear them again so I can feature them here, but I can’t believe that I had not worn Jane Eyre yet. When I did my nails earlier this week I was still in a dark vampy shade kind of mood and once my eyes settled on this one, we had a winner!
The brush on this bottle is round and a bit small, but it works well.
Jane Eyre is described as intensely smouldering crimson embers, imprisoned in a veil of sombre black. Unfortunately my light box turned this beautiful red into a purplish colour, especially in the bottle, but it really is red in real life.
Two coats of this polish give you full opacity, but I often go with three coats with dark polishes to give them more depth and that’s what I did with this one. And because it has glitters in it I added two layers of topcoat to give it a nice smooth finish.
I won’t lie, I’m a bit disappointed that the crimson glitters didn’t come through more, but I’m still happy with the end result.
