I was really excited to try the gel nail polish I bought from Candy Coat and I’m here to tell you all about it. I bought the shade 228 which is a light creme turquoise, let’s take a closer look.
What I love about the Candy Coat bottles is that the colour is indicated on the top of the caps. Since gel nail polish cannot have see-through bottles (because the formula could cure inside the bottles), this makes it easy to know what colour is in the bottle. Even their regular nail polish have the coloured caps.
The best way to apply gel nail polish is to use thin coats. I first applied the base coat, then three coats of 228, then the top coat. I cured my nails for 60 seconds after applying each coat. And voilà!
When I received my package and saw the colour in the cap it looked a bit more dull than what I thought it would be. But once on my nails it was as bright and as beautiful as I had hoped!
Now for the big test… the reason why I’m starting to use gel nail polish more often is because they last way longer than regular nail polish. With regular nail polish I can usually go three days before it starts chipping, but after four or five days I usually have to remove it.
Here are my nails after two weeks of wear. Yup, TWO WEEKS! Not a single chip and barely any tip wear. They look as beautiful as the day I did them!
I absolutely love pastel turquoise nail polish and this one was perfect! And the longevity of the nail polish was exactly what I was looking for.
I’m still wearing this nail polish as I’m publishing this and my nails still look great at 18 days!
I cannot wait to try more from Candy Coat, they have so many colours and I want them all! You can expect to see them a lot on my blog in the future.
